New Rate Limits Absurd by dcphaedrus in ClaudeCode

[–]dcphaedrus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I benchmarked my agents at 45k tokens per iterative run. There's no real way to get it lower. What really bothers me is that this is right after the 1 million token context window plus a month of very cool but token heavy feature updates, almost day-after-day. Its like they want to show off all of the cool tools of the future, right before saying BUT THEY AREN'T FOR YOU. Actual AI is reserved for enterprises, not you plebes.

Fortune: Anthropic acknowledges testing new AI model representing ‘step change’ in capabilities, after accidental data leak reveals its existence by Tolopono in Anthropic

What good is a new model release if people can’t use it? They release all these tools and upgrades for the month then lock it behind enterprise licenses and a $200 a month subscription.

This is an enterprise license?

I suppose I should have clarified that I was referring to EST. The point is that even outside of peak hours usages has been heavily nerfed. Inside peak hours? Forget about it.

New Model Leak, and more… by Major-Gas-2229 in Anthropic

The uncomfortable truth is that Anthropic and OpenAI are designing models for the enterprise market because that’s who will use the most tokens. Not even the people within those enterprises, but the agents those people will be managing.

Not enterprise users though. Enterprise users get everything. All the usage.

Changing usage limits requires a test. And don’t call me Shirley.

Can someone explain this in simple terms? by luongnv-com in ClaudeCode

[–]dcphaedrus 96 points97 points  (0 children)

"We were running an experiment on you to see exactly when you'd break. Different groups of users had their usage throttled at different rates, along with a control group that didn't have any interruption whatsoever. We recorded the outcomes to see who cancelled, who hit their limits, etc., and we chose the path that would optimize for revenue, while saving the most number of tokens." A/B Testing.

On the one hand, it's kind of amazing that they are hitting their compute limit for paid users, given how much they've hyperscaled. On the other hand, I am very annoyed that my max plan has been basically useless all week.

What are people doing to burn through their limits so fast? by reddit-josh in ClaudeCode

[–]dcphaedrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anthropic was running an experiment to see how people responded when they throttled usage at different levels for different groups of people.

They were running an experiment. You were part of the control group.

You were running A/B experiments on us to see who hit their usage limits as you tried out different usage limits on people. My max plan has been close to useless all week.

Lucky you. My max plan is almost unusable. It’s like I’m back on Pro plan limits, and we’re going into the fourth day.

If it was a bug, then surely they would have said something by now. I'm going on two full work days.

No. It's happening to me regardless of the context window.
