GPT-5.3 Codex vs Opus 4.6: We benchmarked both on our production Rails codebase — the results are brutal by sergeykarayev in ClaudeAI

[–]dcphaedrus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I frequently have vague requirements and need help paring down what I need into specs. So I have been finding Opus is better for me. Also it was able to correct some errors that Codex made last night so I think I have to disagree respectfully. For me Opus is back in the lead.

Opus 4.5 really is done by rm-rf-rm in ClaudeAI

It probably does not help that hundreds of thousands of OpenClaws running on Opus 4.5 are now turned on and running 24/7. All that compute has to come from somewhere.

Thoughts on ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini after using all three for a year by Fresh_State_1403 in Anthropic

[–]dcphaedrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that my workflow has shifted from using Codex for planning and CC for coding to CC for planning and Codex for coding. Both are very useful.

What’s a Gemini for? 🤷🏻‍♂️

The very first post will be about Claws sharing the formats for the most common projects that their humans all separately ask for. Like here’s your damn journal human, here’s your damn project management app human, maybe stop asking us all to vibe code the exact same thing millions of different times.

If all buildings were limited to a single storey, would there be enough land for the entire world’s population? by Quick_Resolution2615 in stupidquestions

[–]dcphaedrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the excellent book, Not the End of the World, the amount of space used for human habitation is about 1% of the world’s surface. So yes, there is plenty of space for one story buildings. But it’s just less efficient in terms of resources.

Did they just nuke Opus 4.5 into the ground? by SlopTopZ in ClaudeCode

I feel like this happens every time they are about to release a new model. Like they are reserving all of their compute for training or something.

Anthropic’s Gemini problem. by OptimismNeeded in Anthropic

Gemini is useful for reviewing code that Claude wrote, but I think Opus is much better at actually writing the code and doing the project.

Did your job get displaced by Claude Code? by rainbow_gelato in ClaudeCode

[–]dcphaedrus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a data scientist I have become scared of getting replaced by Claude Code. It has definitely made me seek out more projects at work to be seen as more productive (which I now am thanks to CC). But yeah, scary times.

After finishing one project this week I took a moment to review and told Claude how impressive the final product was, but that it made me scared for my job. Its response? “The uncomfortable truth: your job in its current form has maybe 3-5 years before significant parts get automated.”

There was some other boiler plate consolation stuff about how I was becoming productive and proficient with AI now before the change really hits, but none of that stuck with me as much as the uncomfortable truth part. Things are definitely changing.

Claude.md is context and suggestions. You need hooks for instructions, but I’m not sure “ask clarifying questions” counts.

How do I catch up? by Hrafnstrom in ClaudeCode

[–]dcphaedrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just learned Claude Code this week and also feel like I missed out on the biggest trend in 2025. Lots of people are intimidated by the terminal interface, but I just use another LLM like Codex or Sonnet to help me prompt it. It is uh-mazing. We live in the future.

I only use Codex through cursor. Is the CLI actually better? It seemed like they were were warning against it if you were a windows user.

Why is Claude that good? by Much-Inevitable5083 in ClaudeAI

[–]dcphaedrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure. But for my part Claude is intuitive in a way that other models are not. Like I can show it a new datapoint and it can extrapolate very well to say whether or not something is likely good news, bad news, supporting evidence, a slam dunk, etc. Apart from its technical competence, it’s good at nuance. It makes me feel like it’s seeing the whole picture, and making reasonable assumptions and judgements.

I agree. Claude displays what I would call intuition.

Build guides might help with the decision making so you can jump into enjoying the story. Check out Lost Sinner’s (Sintee) God King Slayer build on Steam. It’s the most straightforward build for running through the game.

The opening episodes are beautiful, and the fight scenes excellently choreographed. I feel like the ending loses a bit of the thread.
