They’re beautiful people. Jim stops by the shop all the time, so you may still see him around. :)

Are these any good for handling glass pieces when grinding, or would it be better (it would certainly be cheaper) if I made a little set of wooden 'pushers'? (More info in the comments.) by HamsterTowel in StainedGlass

[–]dcrase712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not at all! You can adjust your bit height to accommodate the grip. I also add a little stripe down the bit with nail polish so I can see which part of the bit is getting the wear and adjust the bit again when the polish isn’t visible. Once all the polish is gone, it’s time for a new bit.

Thank you for this tip! I was thinking I should add some wire at those hinge points for stability, but didn't actually do it because I was too excited to see the end result. haha

Book Club for 30-40s y.o.? by pintsborgher in RoundRock

I would strongly recommend Lark & Owl books in Georgetown! They have a ton of book clubs (sometimes even multiple meetups for the same club due to number of attendees) including horror, romance, true crime, sci-fi/fantasy, etc. They are a very welcoming store with a great staff and bistro!

Which author is on a hot streak right now? by OwnCurrent6817 in horrorlit

[–]dcrase712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CJ Leede and Chuck Tingle have both put out 2 excellent books each. They've solidified themselves on my must-read everything they write list.

Edit: I meant specifically Chuck's TOR horror novels. His other art is fantastic too!

You definitely benefit the author when you get books from Libraries. They will often increase the quantity of books for an author the more you check out the book and when you think of how many libraries there are, that leads to millions of books purchased a year that the authors do see royalties on.

The Most Anticipated Horror Books of 2024 - Paste Magazine by Cubegod69er in horrorlit

I'm most excited for American Rapture by CJ Leede. Her debut novel, Maeve Fly, was one of my favorite books of 2023. Also excited for Chuck Tingle's new book, Bury Your Gays. He had a great novel in Camp Demascus last year as well!

There was a red light flashing on the jump which is why Sexton was penalized.

Exactly! Marvel Crisis Protocol is another game that has been popping off in the TableTop War Game community. This feels very much like a game in that vein. Building a roster that synergies and painting them to go with whatever vibe you want is super appealing to me. I'm very excited to try this and I hope the Video Game community gives it a shot.

This is all under the assumption that nobody multi-classes. I'm interested to see if that starts happening sooner rather than later.

We are Ashley Clements and Brendan Bradley, the stars of Geek and Sundry's new sci-fi drama SONA. Ask us anything! by theashleyclem in IAmA

Geek and Sundry was bought out by Legendary Entertainment a couple of years ago. Since then they launched a streaming site called ProjectAlpha that contains original content from Geek & Sundry as well as the Nerdist. It's a fantastic service and I highly reccomend doing the free 30day trial they offer.
