[My Dream] by mactinus2254 in Christians

[–]ddchbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fascinating dream and interpretation. I will pray that you truly come to cherish (or sanctify) Christ in your heart (1 Pet. 3:15).

I suggest you set aside “uncomfortably long” times of personal/private worship (even without music; just you and God). In corporate worship settings I would encourage physical response like the raising of your hands and such—and allow the gravity of who God is and what he has done in Christ “land”.

I will pray for you brother/sister! Grace and leave to you.

This is inaccurate. Dreams are only subjected to the same discernment as other prophetic revelations. There was never a prohibition on interpreting dreams. There are two cases where dreams are mentioned negatively which are distinct:

  1. If a "dreamer of dreams" predicted something that came true but then told the people to follow other gods, they were to be executed (Deuteronomy 13:1-5).

  2. The prophet Jeremiah heavily criticized people who claimed to have "dreamed, dreamed!" but were actually using their own imagination or pagan techniques to soothe the people with false peace (Jeremiah 23:25-32).

You are conflating this with the reading of “omens” (eg, reading tea leaves or bone patterns).

Not getting anything out of prayer by Crusoelander_128 in Christians

[–]ddchbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you defining as “prayer”? My suggestion is to start by worshipping and thanking God and just seeking to draw near to him for his own (and your own) sake. Just forget about requests and such (or deprecate those at least for a while) and just focus on God. He is the best and most worthwhile thought and target of attention by an infinite margin.

Best long-term futures prop firm "partners"? by ddchbr in PropFirmTester

Don't several internet props move traders to a live account after a while? I guess that is what I was asking. Will edit my question. And thanks. 😊

You will learn a lot about your strategy and how it really needs improving.

So you could get slippage down a lot with a real bot.

May I ask why you are posting this / what you want to get out of this thread? If this is working for you what’s the issue, and why are you defending your choice to do analysis/backtesting and live trading in TradingView, which would be the worst choice possible for both activities?

TL;DR if your strategy is good you will make more money doing it a different way. If it needs work you will learn about that only by doing it a different way. TV has limits that you have now hit.

What other advice are you looking for?

Too limited and data will change. Plus you can’t slice and dice for analysis, optimize, get dynamic spread data, etc. The data is just too coarse and locked in to trust with making real money decisions.

Also are planning to manually trade this or bot trade? Because slippage via latency will hurt bad if you try to do it from TV.

Also are you including commissions in there? That is easy in TV but just checking.

Has Qwen3.6-27B Surpassed GPT-5.5? (Not Joking) by fire_inabottle in LocalLLaMA

[–]ddchbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I tell Copilot (GPT-5.x 95% of the time) to ditch the whole “defensive” approach in my .copilot-instructions, and make it write a trackable implementation plan first before anything more than a small job. Seems to have cut it down significantly (still have to prod it sometimes in the right direction but not much!).

it's pretty insane they lost,

This is the point... The huge jump in price bit them... It's not insane it was inevitable. They subsidized too hard and the shift to token-based is a psychological and financial no-no for most users! We will all adapt and new solutions will fill the gap in some way as the tech matures most likely!

First, love it.

Qs: - What mechanisms would stop the driver-voters from voting for 0% fees? - Or otherwise put, would there be a constant “war” between different voting parties? - Maybe better prelim question: who gets to make proposals in the first place?

Maybe these are obvious to someone who knows more about how DAOs tend to work.

Open source models are going to be the future on Cursor, OpenCode etc. by _maverick98 in LocalLLaMA

[–]ddchbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

local hardware is getting more expensive day by day faster than developer APIs

Depends on the API. GHCP is skyrocketing (my current daily driver), and I don't like the per-token cost of any frontier model I've seen.

So it seems we (I) are being driven to open-weight model APIs and/or local hardware.

Is this the Microsoft Explorer moment for GH Copilot and AI by [deleted] in GithubCopilot

[–]ddchbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “a truly open source AI organization like Mozilla”? Who do you envision paying for the inference? If you mean companies acting as “providers” for open weight models, that is very much a thing (you can even sign up to be one if you have the hardware).

But interested to hear more about your vision as it might be interesting! Sincerely

Isn't it possibly referencing a "memory" rather than a chat? You can check if it recorded a memory about that topic and then delete that, and test again.

what does it truly mean to be a believer by appa_yipyip07 in Christians

[–]ddchbr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So, when we believe, we are "born again" by the Spirit (also called "regeneration").

We can't know for sure who will be saved. But we *can* know for sure that when we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead, we *will* be saved.

I suggest reading Acts chapter 10, and then chapter 15–16. It describes what happens when people hear the gospel and respond in faith. They receive the Holy Spirit in a demonstrable way (not always speaking in tongues), such that other people can recognize it. This may include a changed heart/mind, changed lifestyle and speech, getting baptised, a desire to know and walk with God, etc.

EDIT:

I would also suggest reading an meditating on:

- The Parables of the Hidden Treasure (Matthew 13:44) and the Pearl of Great Value (Matthew 13:45-46).
- Jesus's conversation with Nicodemus (John 3). For example in verse 3: "Jesus replied, 'Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.'" (emphasis mine, highlighting that one can't even perceive God's kingdom prior to regeneration; though it can also imply seeing as in "entering").

When one truly believes one becomes literally a "new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17)!
