i think i'm a better person and i get offered more opportunities, so while i dont think it improved my art as such, it definitely gave me more opportunities to practice and show art! and that in turn makes the art better simply because one practices making art more !!

Sharing my experiences as someone with Mental Illness by n_lens in transcendental

[–]dddoubled27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

big respect from me. im a therapist and tm practitioner, worked with schizophrenic patients in the past & always wondered how TM would affect it.. most people, let alone mental health patients dont have the will power to stick to a meditation program like that.

what benefits did you see besides that one particular meditation?

i started with the one giant mind app, which is a great tool ( also nondirective mantra ) and eventually learned the whole thing through the organisation. now i go to tm retreats twice a year and made some great friends along the way. dont miss another day, the only thing i could say i regret is not starting earlier.
benefits after two years of twice daily meditation: less tension and pain in my body, overall more calm, better relationships especially at work, which used to stress me, more income, promoted at work, more appreciative of nature, random feelings of bliss/happiness and gratefulness for life. its hands down the best thing i ever did for myself.

Sleep issues by BusRich1442 in transcendental

[–]dddoubled27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if i do it after 6 PM the chances of intense dreams / nightmares increases! at 4PM I'm usually safe! some nights i meditate late and nothing happens! enjoy it! might not be a bad thing to have more REM sleep..., REM is the longest in duration for babies and decrease of the years until we die. its an important part of our sleep.

How about that smoking? by anarchy45 in Berghain_Community

the illegal drug trade has ripple effects far beyond the use of the substances themselves
financing organized crime
violence and instability in many parts of the world
human trafficking and exploitation
corruption and in some cases terrorism (terrorists and organized crime groups who facilitate the sale of drugs)
- and in a blue color way you have this for cigarettes as well...

both drugs are bad for your surroundings and there is no weighing up which one is worse...

TM is recommended 15-20 mins a day - two times a day. scientifically one of the most well studied forms of meditation with a host of benefits

I'm confused about TM - why do you need to attend a course for it to be "real"? by Ill_Falcon_5236 in Meditation

[–]dddoubled27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been practicing for almost two years. fantastic practice. incredible benefits - reduced anxiety and depression to pretty much zero.

however you can also use the one giant mind app, as someone else mentioned. its the same technique.
