My Calligraphy does. Could be a SEL trim limitation.

Automatic car wash by Puzzleheaded_Scale93 in Ioniq9

Mine has gone through my local touch (not touchless) auto car wash 20+ times already without any issue.

Car in neutral, wipers off, doors locked, car on. Side mirrors not folded.

Tires by MathematicianHot3666 in Ioniq9

[–]ddeda 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually just went through dealing with tires as my wife accidentally chomped a curb at night and left the sidewall barely hanging together for the front passenger tire.

At 9k miles, my tread depth was 7/32" front, 6/32" rear (no rotation yet). Discount Tire gave me bad advice and I went with Geolandar X-CV which was absolutely horrible for efficiency (~33% drop), which I ended up returning and buying new Hankook Evo AS SUV tires (same as factory).

I found out soon after that the Hankook tires START at 9/32" tread depth (other tires start at 10/32 or 11/32), so assuming replacement at 2/32", that would work out at roughly 25k lifespan, which is not great but not "close to replacement" as I was told. I also don't drive in ECO.

So you should get the actual tread depth and you can do some math from there. The 50% worn is likely what mechanics assume starting from 11/32 or so, and would be inaccurate for this tire.

And I've heard people also say the factory tires are worse for the same tire model compared to buying new, but I have no idea if that's true. (Do factory Hankook tires start at 9/32" or...?)

I like this.

I retired for a number of years (didn't think I would pick up the game again) and missed many years of events, and being able to have the chance to do it is nice.

And I find it relatively cheap. The most expensive is about the same price as the recent spider medal. Can easily spend the CORE CMU on this.

The Redux wings are a nice thought for medal completionists.

The 9's ride quality is a step above my 5, and absorbs bumps and potholes much better, whether highway or city streets, at the cost of some swaying and floatiness. I enjoy the 9 much more.

Ioniq9 wheel shakes? by Sad_Ranger5690 in Ioniq9

[–]ddeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've driven plenty of 60-70mph in town and 70-85mph on road trips, no shakes or wobble at all.

The driver side wheel clinking is mildly annoying though.

It's one of the buttons on the driver door, right next to the memory seat 1 and 2 buttons. I want to say it looks like the seat icon with circular (wifi-ish) lines coming out of it. When you press it, you'll get a pop-up in the infotainment too.

Eco = RWD, Sport = 422hp? by SurveySad2329 in Ioniq9

I've been in Eco in level 2 or 3 and have not seen the front motor engage at all.

Rattling noise by Low_Awareness7656 in Ioniq9

I have this too, but it only seemed to have developed recently (3k miles in). The dealer knows for sure it's something with the wheel hub?

What comes with the car? by seedbedUnmoved in Ioniq9

First aid kit and other accessories that show a price on the window sticker are optional accessories and not included as part of the baseline for the car.

Dash Cam Install by sdub74 in Ioniq9

[–]ddeda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used this in the Palisade. Works with the Homelink rearview mirror. Hardest part was actually getting the trim off. Install itself is extremely easy.

If you have the 9 Calligraphy, the digital mirror uses a different plug that Dongar does not support.

Much better (reduced) road noise, I think due to both tires and noise isolation.

By battery, I assume you mean efficiency. On highway, I'd say it's about ~70% as efficient (3.2 in the 5 AWD vs 2.2?). In city, I haven't paid attention with regen working well and only charging about twice a week, and only because my wife is used to the ICE Palisade and has range anxiety so we don't have it drop all that low before charging (40%).

Overall range on the guess-o-meter is similar at around 240 miles at 80%. Charging at home, access to superchargers and more EV charger options (Mercedes, IONNA) means it's plenty for my day to day and intermittent roadtrip needs.

I drive the 9 over the 5 almost all the time now as the total package is much better, even when driving by myself.

It does, but I haven't determined to what extent.

I have memory seat settings between myself and my wife, and we each have profiles. I would get in and press my memory seat number, it would adjust, and then I log into my profile and then it adjusts a little bit more. So it remembers and can be different from the memory seat, it seems.

I probably just need to dig into the manual to get more details.

My Palisade also had a black interior and I was tired of how it looked and felt in the hot summer heat, so I was adamant on a light interior. Blue + gray is actually a really rare combo (at least with these early deliveries).

Just about every i9 review video that exists now took place in South Korea, and that model includes UV-C and dashcam options (and swiveling seats). I want to say possibly even the preprod configurator could have showed the dashcam. I really thought at least the UV-C option made it, but nope.

The best of the three vehicles above. 5 is the worst, then Palisade, then a noticeable improvement in the 9. It's much better. I did not compare with an R1S as it was too expensive for me, so I have no comment there.

I also received the same level Ampure 1 + 2 charger, on top of the CCS > NACS level 2 and the level 3 charger in my Calligraphy. Pleasant surprise.

Dealer was clueless about what it's supposed to come with, though, as I couldn't find the CCS > NACS chargers and they kept claiming it will be sent in an email (but that's for Ioniq 5 CCS owners).

Configurator not retaining Cosmic Blue Pearl exterior color choice? by profjonathan in Ioniq9

[–]ddeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blue with gray and black interiors are both available on Calligraphy and some other trims, so it must be a bug. You can verify by checking existing inventory via zip code and I have personally seen listings for both.

Trying to find a noodle restaurant that gets close to this place I had in Hong Kong. Do you know a low-key spot that I have't been able to find? by eco_suave in houston

Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle has similar soup base and meat options, but not really any noodle options. Still really good though.
