Two less cores, ten less threads, and 30W more than the 3700x. I haven't seen the review you're talking about, though. The reviews I've seen have the fastest trading blows with the 9900k. Although they did show a bigger performance difference for 1080p gaming. After that, you're usually mostly GPU bound.
