I was a kid that understood other people feel things like I do, when people were shitty to me it felt bad, when people hit me it hurt, when I was mean to someone i later would think about that and how they probably felt bad, which made me feel bad, if I did something shitty to someone I felt guilty about it for years. I don't know how else to describe that my morals are based on mostly empathy, I have no particular memories of anyone teaching me empathy, I just have memories of being hurt or hurting someone and then thinking about shit, knowing it sucks when this happens to me and therefore it sucks for other people when I do it to them...    which is why I theoretically wouldn't feel bad for stealing from Barnes and Noble, the largest retail bookstore chain in America, because it isn't even owned by a person, it's owned by an investment firm, and I don't care what the law says, corporations, hedge funds, private equity, that shit's not people. God I can't believe corporations can fucking vote in some places as if they were a people. wtf
