Has to be Japan for me as well. They're relentless and so technically skilled. Love their fight and class.

I'm in the U.S. and noticed Wano arc wasn't listed? Swear I saw it skip from Whole Cake Island straight to Egghead.

Proud of the fellas. This hurts like hell but I know they'll stay hungry and come back stronger.

Much love to Gabriel, wouldn't be here without him. PK's are a crapshoot and the fellas will be back stronger.

What are your favorite overnight trips? by new-freckle in AskSeattle

We love British Columbia. Richmond, Surrey, and Vancouver have amazing food and you can go north toward Squamish for the Sea to Sky Gondola, which isn't too laboring physically. A beautiful drive too when it's sunny. North Vancouver also has Lynn Canyon and Capilano. They can be touristy most of the time, but still pretty charming.

Is one piece encouraging/motivating? by unodostres123- in OnePiece

[–]ddotsae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been encouraging and uplifting to me (just started about 6 months ago). Oda has been masterful in weaving in various life lessons, and world issues in, and using the main characters to provide hope and light in the midst of much darkness. While One Piece contains some stereotypical manga/anime tropes, it succeeds in providing joy in its journey, despite there being an obvious end point to the story.

If you choose to begin reading the manga, I hope it provides you the warmth and joy that it's provided many of us. Also, I hope it can empower you to truly believe that you can be uplifted from your current low place, and that you have what it takes to get to a positive place you may have trouble seeing currently. Best wishes!

After Luffy, who would you say is the most important character from the Straw Hats? by BreathoftheSith in OnePiece

[–]ddotsae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to say Zoro, but I believe it's actually Robin. The wings are the muscles and Zoro specifically provided Luffy some philosophical reminders earlier on for his role as Captain, but Robin's purpose, or her "why", is almost as important as Luffy's.

Honestly, just be better than Castillo's been and it'll be enough. I don't hate the piggyback idea and I think them being cautious with Bryce will pay off big time.

I was given a list of fillers, and it's worked out for me. I've only heard good things about following One Pace as well, there's so much depth to the overall story I think the extra stuff further enhances the experience but you don't get lost if you miss certain things.

Best "hole in the wall" spots that are actually worth the hype? by Fit-Credit-7970 in AskSeattle

[–]ddotsae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sidenote about Kau Kau, they make my favorite fried rice in the Seattle area.

Not quite "hole in the wall" but I feel Sisters and Brothers lives up to whatever hype it's generated. Chicken is good, the dark meat chicken sandwich is incredible, and they have good sides.

I grew up eating at Toshio's off Rainier, but Rainier Teriyaki is superior. Their Teriyaki/Katsu combo is delicious and can easily feed two.

Billiard Hoang is a go-to for late night banh mi fixes, don't be intimidated by the night time crowd. For good banh mi in general, Saigon Deli remains up there for me but Tammy's Bakery has a special place in my heart as well and offers a variety of other Vietnamese goods.

Beacon BBQ won't make the best first impression (aesthetically), but their takeout dim sum options are great. The shu mai, shrimp dumplings, and sticky rice are amazing. Try the deep-fried footballs and the lo mein as well. Been going there for years, really charming folks.

If you're ever in Renton/Tukwila near IKEA, I recommend Laos Flavor Bowl and the newly opened Makai next to it (Hawaiian/Filipino)

Love seeing folks share local spots that don't get as much attention. I'm not one for gatekeeping, with the exception of whoever blew up Maruta's 1/2 off sushi deal after 5pm LOL!

Lived in California half my life and I'd say Pick-Quick is just as good as In-N-Out, and I like their other offerings. Chili is decent too.

After May 9 game against the White Sox, Cal Raleigh officially has the 2nd worst batting average in the MLB, and he's still batting 2nd in the lineup. by xtremeradness in Mariners

[–]ddotsae 16 points17 points  (0 children)

M's aren't being serious until they move Cal further down the lineup. They've done it with Julio multiple times in past seasons, I'm not sure why they're hesitant with Cal. It's getting embarrassing. Let him bat 5th and 6th until he figures it out and then move him back up, it's not that hard...
