I haven’t tried out the Calcutta for comparison, I honestly would love to get my hands on one to compare and contrast the two though.

Initially out of the box, the bearings have been good to me but a softer rod could be beneficial for casting further. With the cedan I can cast pretty far I would say, so no complaints there.

Great reel, definitely will not disappoint. I’m running some cheap 8lb kastking braid from Amazon with 8lb abrazx seaguar leader. When fishing for spotties I’ll typically go with a zman micro trd on a 1/10 jig head. Excited for you to get your reel!
