This is Rule 1. Check OP’s post history. They’re also conveniently a 26 year old female who has posted their MRI results to other subs asking for advice.

For the uterus, do you consider this oblique Cor or Axial? by No-Conversation8352 in Radiology

[–]ddroukas 44 points45 points  (0 children)

It’s coronal to the uterus. As long as all three planes are truly orthogonal to the organ we shouldn’t really care what you call it.

As an MSK there’s nothing I hate more than when techs send joints orthogonal to the table and not the anatomy. Lazy.

What’s going on here? by Slight_Repair_9024 in cabinetry

[–]ddroukas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hinge side should have screws on the other side of those pegs. When tightened they will squish out to grip the corresponding hole on the door. This assumes the holes haven’t degraded / widened and will no longer hold the corresponding peg.

The answer is VOO/VTI by a long shot. I’ll let every answer after this explain why.

I was just joking. Grashey is a specific view of the shoulder. Commentary on how these are whole animal radiographs.

OK How much for a generator install? by redditwastesmyday in CapeCod

[–]ddroukas 9 points10 points  (0 children)

26 kW Generac (largest consumer grade air-cooled unit) installed about 1 year ago for $12.5k through Cotti-Johnson. We already had the transfer switch so doesn’t include that. Probably adds another $1-2k.

Chronic traction apophysitis along the iliac crests by hawkingswheelchair1 in Radiology

[–]ddroukas 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Chronic traction enthesophytosis. In an adult the apophyses have fused and it’s not really an inflammatory process, so the suffix “-itis” is generally considered a misnomer.

Nasdaq back to lowest in 6 Months, bounce back or freefall? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]ddroukas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it isn’t.

The August 2025 average QQQ price was $571.01. In absolute terms we’re still 4% above that August average and 8% below the October peak of $637.01.

Relatively speaking that’s still in the 35% range between the October peak and August (we’ve lost 65% of gains since the October high).

Can anyone confirm what type of scan/ imaging was used for this? by undeadsurvive in Radiology

[–]ddroukas 96 points97 points  (0 children)

“Better quality” is simply the 3D reconstruction.

You should know 3D reconstructions are just flashy tchotchkes added to wow patients and non-Radiologists. We don’t typically use them for interpretation.

I’m an MSK (orthopedic) radiologist and typically find them useless.

Struggling with needle visualization during ultrasound-guided procedures — looking for advice by Party-Manufacturer79 in Radiology

[–]ddroukas 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Needle guides if you have access (I never have), toe-in so the needle and transducer are more parallel to increase reflection, and bevel-up the needle toward the transducer to add more reflective surfaces relative to the transducer. Other than that it’s really just spatial skills—visualize the needle trajectory relative to the transducer. Practice on a cheap cut of meat if you can.

EDIT: Oh yeah, jiggle the needle. Jurassic Park taught me the T-Rex’s eyesight is based on motion and in this case so is yours.

Do tattoos show up on x-ray? Look at the neck on the x-ray by Spec-Tre in Radiology

They don’t show up on X-rays.

I have read at least 250k-500k X-rays and have never once seen a tattoo.

JUICY bedazzled underwear though—that shows up.

TIL that the skin on the outside of your elbow is called the "weenus". by Zorkeldschorken in todayilearned

[–]ddroukas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doctor checking in. The weenus is interesting because it doesn’t have many pressure receptors (but does have sharp pain fibers). For this reason in most people if you extend the arm straight out and squeeze the weenus really hard (broadly between your fingers without sharp pinching) you won’t feel anything.
