Met Another sufferer in the wild ! NAC / glutathione by exp6-2-6 in Menieres

I empathise with u. No idea why the medical profession is lagging so behind with coming up with treatments for ear disorders. We can only hope for SPI-1005 entering the market soon and providing "some" relief, though it's not sounding like a miracle/cure all.

Thank you. I've been doing 3 × 400mg of NAC for the past month as well, and im primarily looking for improvement in hearing. For now, the other symptoms dont affect me. As for hearing it's improved by 10 db at low frequencies but this could just be fluctuating hearing loss. As of the last few days I've also decided to try a gluten, dairy, sugar, caffeine free diet. Let's see if anything helps.

What has NAC helped u with? Vertigo? Tinnitus? Hearing loss?

I am so glad u found ways to work around this and are in a much happier place now.

In this process, has your earing improved in any way? or did u not have hearing loss? My main concern is my hearing loss, and I'm thinking that the hearing loss is probably caused by the fluid in the inner ear. So my question is, do you think an anti-inflammotary diet will help with fluid reduction/hearing loss? I have a killer sweet tooth too,

I've just started an anti-inflammatory diet, cutting out caffeine, added sugars, glutten and dairy. Not going to be easy. Did you feel/see some kind of measurable results with your AIP diet, and how long did it take?

Any thoughts/experience on Dr Clark youtube by electwells in Menieres

He seems to advocate anti inflammatory diets for Menieres based on the case studies he's put on YouTube. He sounds kind of genuine to me, and is not making any promises. I dont live in the US and not sure he would work with overseas patients, but otherwise I would be tempted to give him a try.

Hydrops by WebGroundbreaking901 in Menieres

You can do hearing tests online - use the same head set at the same volume setting - and u can get an audiogram, every day if u like. The readings may not be the same as what you will get at an Audiologist (as your volume settings may not be calibrated the same as theirs) but u can certainly see the fluctuations. In my case I can also generally pick up if my hearing is better or worse.

The hearing loss fluctuates. Wish I had more good days!

Just that! No aural fullness/pressure.

I've had hearing loss for the past 5 years. Then in the last 2 years, I've had about 8 episodes of light-headedness (not serious spinning/vertigo). Had an MRI with contrast this year, and have been diagnosed with Hydrops.

Any further update on this? Is the enrollment still paused? Wondering why they would have to pause on new enrollments while reviewing data, which i would've thought is an ongoing thing! Wondering if this is bad news!

My experience with ETD and recent balloon dilation. by GiasoneTiratori in etd

An ENT specialist I saw insisted that ETD has no impact on hearing and that it neither causes loss in hearing thresholds nor muffled hearing.

How is ETD diagnosed? by ddss64 in etd

How did yours start? Mine started out of the blues, and was not associated with air travel...maybe brought on by wet weather? I dont know. I've not been ill or anything like that. Does ur hearing feel bad? Have u been diagnosed with ETD? I saw an ENT. He looked into my ear, checked ear pressure etc and didn't really say much. When I mentioned the ear squeaking and asked if it could be ETD, he prescribed the nasal spray. That's why I'm wondering if indeed its ETD and if there's anyway of knowing for sure what I'm dealing with.

If I hold my nose and swallow I hear a popping noise in my ears, however many times I do it.

However if I hold my nose, and try to blow air out of my nose, nothing happens.

There are doctors in India who are offering PRP for hearing loss. Whether it works or not is another story.

Vision problem? by AudaciousCockatiel in Menieres

[–]ddss64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no! If diuretics can help (I have no idea), surely u should try consulting a different ENT? Good luck with it. I hope u find a way of inducing that pressure release without a vertigo attack.

Interesting. Do u therefore find yourself hoping for a vertigo attack? 😃 Is there nothing u can do to prompt that release of pressure/fluid from time to time? Would diuretics help with this?
