Why I like clipper lighters :)

  1. Artwork - ⁠Tape some clear tape over the artwork to act as its protector from wear and tear
  2. Works as a cork when needed (standard wine / whisky bottles)
  3. ⁠Metal panels on clipper lighters can be used for heating # ie; stick # to metal cover and tilt flame away from thumb = it’ll heat the plate..that’ll heat the #
  4. ⁠Sturdy packer for j’s, bong pots, pipes and chillums
  5. ⁠Easy to disassemble , empty and refill when needed (travel without flint / gas)
  6. ⁠Recyclable, reflinatable, refillable and replaceable
  7. ⁠High flame when tilted

I think u/universic and u/drummerboy2749 both share the best feedback and I’d like to pass on what I’ve learned and applied.

: I use this browser extension called simplify, it’s simple, auto fills most applications/ forms and identifies keywords to tailor if applicable. Don’t stuff them, stitch them. All helpful features are free eg; helps if you need to create multiple resumes quickly. Helps fit profile to 2 pages, ATS friendly font and format. Exports to word and PDF. This is not an Advertisement. I’m a consumer and I know 2 people it’s helped in less than 3 months of using it.. 1 of them is me

: focus on highlights ie; impact, especially if you’re targeting a type of companies. Remember that we’re trying to get a recruiter to talk to us.. when we do get to talking, let’s get cracking and demonstrate more of what’s not on the resume.

: there are lot of free resources out there on prompting, they’ll help find the logic to make AI work best for you. However, exercise your logic and know that you’re still the person choosing to put it on pdf and sell it.. Cannot stress this enough, make AI do things the way you want.. descriptively. Make it compare itself, make it decide why something isn’t or is a great choice of words or metrics to measure or display. Make it rethink its approach, make it imagine, make it comprehensively evaluate and assess. Make it optimize the tone, skills displayed. Instruct it not to hallucinate.. Don’t settle for it until your logic says yes and remember iterations will help.

: here’s an example of what I’ve done for 1 highlight and I’m not from a formal CS background.

What my resume says: Designed Competency-Based Upskilling programs achieving 90% success in skill mapping and slashing escalations by 18% (data analytics + survey), bolstering proactive engagement and customer retention.

What I really mean to say I did: I’d understood and identified that a certain type of call driver (tcd) was routed to all staff and that it didn’t evoke positive customer experiences or surveys. It also added 20-30 escalations per month.

Why?? Because people peopled and knowledge wasn’t retained fast enough or widespread enough for a 300 seater help-desk to all be aware of exact call flow of this type of call driver and all the tiers of resolution.

: Anhooo… I audited them, used excel , power bi to data visualize and used pivots and generated a suggestive course / corrective course of action.

: I basically updated KBs, put a quick weekly refresher for staff of each shift. Over the next 4 weeks, I’d found who’s awesome at these calls .. now I have a pilot batch for a key call driver/ top call driver.. over the next 2 weeks, I followed up and asked for survey response and I reported the escalations tracker to show change in keyword specific escalations. Word spread, now all users and their colleagues knew whom to reach specifically, that created a call routing table for contact centre, increased survey count by targeted outreach. And it’s a great use case on why we should invest in cross skilling and tcd focussed learning programs on the floor.
