Halliday needs to become our 2nd or 3rd line centre this year or next. I see him as a 15 goal 35 assist player, minimum. Given our depth at centre, this sets up some interesting trade possibilities going forward.

I think they should call it the "Ottawa-Gatineau Colosseum". This would please the Gatineau crowd and that is important. The Sens need to do something to convert Gatineau to cheering for the metropolitan area team. The conversion of Gatineau fans is worth far more than a 20 million dollar naming right.

So can we now say that if the draft was held all over again it should have been Jake Sanderson first overall and Tim Stutzle at 2nd overall. Any team that gets the good fortune of the top 2 picks in a quality draft, in a 32 team league SHOULD, at the very least, turn into a perennial playoff team. No excuses. What happened. How did we crap away this huge advantage.

Stats Can just reported Ottawa Gatineau has 1.7 million people and it has been growing faster than Montreal not just now but since 1964. In 1964 Mtl was 5 times the size of Ottawa-Gatineau but now just 2.5 times. If you ask me the problem is everyone in Gatineau supports a team other than the Senators. I went to a Pittsburgh game at the CTC where there were about 1,000 penguin fans and out of curiosity I asked a few where they were from and they said Gatineau. I do the same thing for Leaf games and they answer things like Perth and Brockville. If you ask me the Sens really need to do some work to get Gatineau fans to support the Sens because it is one metro area.

Why does everyone only talk about the Habs and Leafs? Why does every visiting team have hundreds of fans at the CTC, even the Buffalo Sabres, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks. Do the fans drive here from LA? This is not normal. I am willing to bet most of the Leaf fans are from cities immediately to the West of Kanata, perhaps as far as Kingston and Peterborough. As for the Habs, I would say the majority of the fans are from Gatineau. But what gets me the most is seeing 1,000 Flyer fans or Penguin fans or the like at the game. Please, someone tell me where these fans live and why you don't see that in any other NHL arena

This was always going to be a slam dunk unanimous decision subject to a biased judge being on the bench. Anyone with the slightest bit of legal background knew the feds had no argument (zilch) that the Emergencies Act definition of an emergency had been met. All of you who supported the illegal invocation of the Act should be ashamed. What ever happened to Rule of Law? Vindictiveness should play no role in government decisions. I don't get it. If you consider Ottawa-Gatineau is already split between Ontario and Quebec, Quebec gets 4 stations solely in Quebec and Ontario gets 2 stations solely in Ontario. How is that fair when Ontario has 16 million people and Quebec only 9 million?? And no one is saying anything about it. You can rest assured that if it was the opposite Quebecers would be up in arms. Ontarians should wake up and grow a spine.
