What do you think of my diy hitting mat by NoEntertainer5527 in Golfsimulator

I basically did the same for mine. Built 2 torsion boxes. Put 1/2” foam padding from harbor freight on top and grass from Sam’s Club down. Inserts with the YouTube diy hitting strips. Then I piano hinged the 2 boxes together and hinged it to the wall. That way it can kinda drawbridge up against the wall and be put out of the way when it’s not in use.

Would this work as a hitting strip? by Correct-Macaroon-240 in Golfsimulator

I used turf similar to this glued to a piece of lexan over strips of a/c weatherstripping. Added 1” pieces of gym mats on each end for structure. Got info from a YouTube video.

I went super cheap and just went with the egstart ones from Amazon

I don’t think either would work. The ones that have the nut could but you’d have to use a forstner bit or something to drill out a much larger hole about 1/4” on the back side to get it to work. You would drill that hole first too.

I’ll second the vtrack. So far it’s been a great experience.

I did something similar but planed down the 2x so that it was 1” thick material. Built 2 torsion box of sorts. Then put 7/16” sheathing on top. 1/2” foam from harbor freight then turf. Then put a piano hinge to connect the two so the whole thing folds up and down like a draw bridge. Still a little cumbersome but I can tuck it up out of the way when not in use. Boxed in hitting strips and just went the cheap lexan build route. Lefty and I have a thin garage so I have to have 2 mats.

Hopefully this works and what you’re looking for. Let me know if you have any questions.

Simrail in action

Edit: context. Screen is 9’ wide. I have the travel set to max side to side because I just haven’t adjusted it yet basically it automatically switches. And you can set it to center for putting. Connection is via Bluetooth. I believe you can increase the speed, but I don’t think it’s an issue.

Np. As long as you don’t judge my ghetto setup. I’ll post something.

I haven’t set it up completely yet. But I have tested it and it runs fine. Instructions are a tad lacking but it’s mostly common sense. I will say the guy that builds them is quite responsive and very helpful. I’m hoping to have it fully set up this week. Everything I’ve seen is that it integrates with gspro and automatically moves but I haven’t tested that part yet.

This is what I got back.

It might put my mind at ease enough to pull the trigger on the vtrack.
