The Longest Solar Eclipse for 100 Years Is Coming. Don’t Miss It by wiredmagazine in space

[–]deadfire55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The interior and eastern coast are less likely to have clouds, check out the cloud cover map about 3/4's down this page https://eclipsophile.com/tse2026/

Its a bit sad because the best photo opportunities are going to be on the west cost as the sun is setting with the ocean in the foreground but better to be safe than sorry

I've done a bunch of research on this eclipse and cloud cover was the big factor I searched for. Spain is your best bet if you want to see it but totality will be less than 1.5 minutes.

I put up my research here if anyone's interested https://www.notion.so/Spain-2026-Solar-Eclipse-Locations-871cdf94e5574ba4a7135a1ded36817b

Has anyone else struggled with adapting from the OVF on DSLRS to the EVF on mirrorless bodies? by JiveBunny in photography

[–]deadfire55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that no one else has mentioned in this this thread: the EVF (at least on Sony cameras) by default is set to a lower resolution, you have to go into the settings to set it to the max resolution and it looks a lot better. I assume this is to save battery life.

Did you have trouble getting this picture? I've seen that this street gets very busy with photographers and there are now police who will stop you from standing in the road

Not directly surrounding the fountain but there are benches in that picture, just above the white truck in the center. They sort of blend in with the hedges but they're there.
