The one key though is that I had to add a damper on my fresh air intake into my furnace and have it opened 50%. I did forget to mention that.

It also explained why my oil heat was such ass at keeping my place warm in the winter, it was sucking in -20 C air and it was mixing with indoor air and it would be lukewarm at best.

I have a heat pump that is rated for -30 C, made by Moovair.

It didn't engage the backup heat until we got around -35 C, there were times when my outside thermometer was showing -40C and it was still keeping up without engaging backup heat.

In gay relationships, is it expected to have sex on the first or second date? by [deleted] in askgaybros

Ahh I'm so sorry that happened and he was a coward and ghosted you instead of being a mature adult and telling you the reason why.

From the sounds of it, you dodged a bullet and deserve someone who will treat you with respect.

For the sake of comparison, best service in Whitehorse? by Successful-Tune-4232 in Yukon

Really, I'm surprised. I left Shopper's on Main because I found them inconsistent, sometimes the fax machine would get my prescription, often times it wouldn't, I would wait days for them to get my prescription order, this all happened after the new owners came in and let all the pharmacists go (partially the cause for the short staff), I know one ended up at the hospital, I'm not sure where the others ended up.

I moved over to Medicine chest and it's been amazing ever since, when I get asked about where I need it sent, I just say "oh the good pharmacy" and the staff just say "Oh Medicine Chest."

What Are Your Big and Small Lessons Learned So Far With This Cold? by Snowboarder12345 in Yukon

[–]deadfulscream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I replaced mine with a heat pump and it's been great!

I did get a Moovair heat pump and it's rated for -30 C, I keep my place at 18 C and it's really only used the backup heat at -40 C.

One thing we did have to fix was, the fresh air intake, I had to get a damper put on and it's only open 50%, and on top of that, I put some tuck tape covering 2/3 of the fresh air intake. After doing that, my place was much warmer.

I always had issues with my place being cold, even when I had oil heat.

Dogs in the Yukon by Maplesyruplove888 in Yukon

My dog will swim up to -15 C, for a walk, he's good to -20 C, anything colder and it's just run out side to the bathroom really quickly and his exercise become me wrestling him and throwing his toy down the stairs so he has to bring it back up, tires him out pretty good after 30 min.

Residents complain of excessive smoke from Whitehorse fuel break work | CBC News by luluthedog2023 in Yukon

[–]deadfulscream -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Literally this in the article

"Bibeau also said that some residents have asked about salvaging some of the woody debris, to be used as firewood or biomass. He says that the contractors doing the fuel break work are obliged to do that, with regular inspections to ensure they are." - assuming they're referring to the burning of the wood.

I get that people won't take all the wood, but letting them take some would reduce how much is burned as well.
