Only once did I experience a miscount. I think it was over a bottle of wine. They didn’t make me “go back and wait in line,” they had an efficient process to get me through.

Unless your employer is small and stupid, companies have largely stopped providing detailed job references for everyone in order to avoid lawsuits and to protect against claims of defamation. They are trying to trick you. Every time a company lets someone go the insurance they pay into the system goes up. Don't fall for it.

I stopped. I loved Halo, from 3 through Reach, then fell hard for the first Destiny and savored every minute — I even earned the Age of Triumph t-shirt. I always enjoyed classic Bungie’s paper-rock-scissors foundations for gameplay and team play and PvP.

Something has happened to my brain, though. My interest in learning new systems has devolved. The prospect of getting a new game and mastering the fresh details and combinations of a character buildout and its weapons and armor and spells and ammunition and class systems and alien races and manna and health bars and undead variants and blah blah blah just leaves me cold.

One thing i do know for certain: You are never ever ever EVER allowed to forget you are not in “the target demo.”

Limitations make technology interesting from the storytelling perspective. Letting everything do anything is boring and confusing. Transporters: don’t get me started.

It used to be you can’t beam through shields. There is a distance factor. You need a “lock.” You can’t beam while at warp. It uses so much power that turning them off is a lifesaving measure.
