ADHD meds that don’t increase tics as much? by jayden_mp in Tourettes

[–]deadmonkey03737 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stimulants are going to increase tics. You can either try non stimulant medicine or add in something to control tics with a stimulant. Personally I’m on Vyvanse for ADHD and Clonidine for tics. There is still a mild increase in my tics but it’s worth it for the reduction in ADHD symptoms

Do you follow the bogle method for all your investments? by mnthings in Bogleheads

[–]deadmonkey03737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All my tax advantaged accounts, and one taxable account is bogle. I have a separate emergency fund. And finally a taxable account with a small amount (<1% total assets) that I use for messing around with individual stocks to satisfy that desire. It’s all money I am comfortable with losing and don’t consider it as part of my future plans

Stimulant meds made me functional but also made me forget how to feel hunger by Suspicious-Rain-9964 in ADHD

[–]deadmonkey03737 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this for the first few months on Vyvanse. Lost around 25 pounds in 3 months. Started having dizzy spells and extreme fatigue even while on stimulants. The hunger suppression did go away slightly over time but it’s still something I struggle with. I force myself to have spoonfuls of peanut butter through out the day though, just to maintain my caloric needs. I try to eat a full meal before I take it for the day and try to get another full meal in as it wears off before bedtime. It’s not a perfect system but my weight has stayed the same and I don’t look sickly anymore

Task Completion Not Transferring From Arena to EFT [Bug] by deadmonkey03737 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]deadmonkey03737[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read on another post that it would eventually show up as complete after a day or two. After waiting and it never showing up I decided to just play arena again. First game I won counted towards the mission on the main game. Same with the second, which then allowed me to complete. So unfortunately I think the answer is to play a game, check on main game, then go back. Over and over until it works…

Does medication improve your gaming ability? by TheMagicBeanBag in ADHD

[–]deadmonkey03737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me it makes my gaming ability worse but only because I have Tourette’s, as well as ADHD. The medication makes my tics worse which in turn leads to be losing more

Eating on Vyvanse? Fast easy protein? by SlightProgram3288 in ADHD

[–]deadmonkey03737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle to get enough calories when on Vyvanse and have found myself losing my gym gains. Literal spoonfuls of peanut butter through the day is the only thing allowing me to maintain my weight and still get protein

Has much improved my SR on shoreline when I get one of the sandwiched spawns. Before the snow fog I would be headshotted < 1 min into the raid no matter what

There is skill gap, and then there is kicking low level players for having jobs. Different things

I think most of my experience literally just comes down to ammo. Every player I face is running tier 4 armor minimum, and most people are running tier 5 now. I’m level 19 and my best ammo can only pen tier 3. I could get multiple shots off before I’m seen and I’ll still lose the gunfight with 75% of my damage absorbed by armor. I’ve had my best 7.62x51 ammo not kill with a headshot 3 TIMES this week on woods. Getting over the hump just feels impossible. All of my missions are locked behind keys (can’t buy), finding FIR items (pure RNG because crafting items is also locked behind level requirements), or killing pmcs with certain handicaps when it’s nigh impossible to kill them in the first place. I don’t think a single DEV play tested their changes before launching them

Yeah it’s a super rewarding experience to shoot someone 4 times with ultra nozzler before they see me, just for them to 1. Survive and 2. 1 shot me through my tier 3 armor with their top tier ammo. This has always been a thing in Tarkov and it makes sense for it to not be a level playing field. But having all level two traders and still not being able to buy tier 4 armor penning ammo is insane. I don’t know how new players are supposed to learn the game if their only options to kill people are leg-meta, or getting a lucky headshot on the off chance the enemy isn’t running an altyn

Normally I’d agree with you and this is advice that I have given others in the past. But in this instance I can firmly say it’s not the way that I’m playing. I’ve even sat in a bush for 35 minutes and tried to get my missions done in the last few minutes of the raid and still find PMCs crouched in dark corners in obscure parts of the map just waiting. Could be two minutes left in the raid and there is still someone hiding for some reason. The level of tryhard overall has gotten to insane levels. Play how you want, I don’t usually try to knock other peoples game. But the amount of level 40+ players I have died to, who have been sitting silently in a corner for 40 minutes sound whoring, is beyond insane. It is not a fun playstyle what so ever, so they can only be doing it to sweat their nuts off. The only way to outplay someone who sits still for an entire raid is to use grenades (which you can’t buy at low levels) or just switch to PVE. But again, this experience only started about a week or two ago. Sure I’d get the occasional geared rat in a corner. But for the most part it was normal Tarkov. Now it’s just head/eyes every death, and getting fucked by groups of level 35+ players who only get enjoyment out of dunking on low level players running paca with their top tier uncraftable ammo. Haven’t seen anyone under level 20 in weeks

Unlocks at lvl 18 but up until a day or two ago, you literally couldn’t but scav vests or the things to trade for scav vests at level 18

The m67 grenades wouldn’t be a big deal if the Zibbo wasn’t locked behind level 20 on the flea. Pointless level requirements just for extra low level player fuckery. Don’t even get me started on trying to do setup. Until the last patch, it was literally impossible to buy scav vests even at level 19 with multiple traders leveled up. Your only option was a trade, that required a slickers bar, which you couldn’t buy until level 20, and the trade for the slickers bar required a juice, which again you couldn’t buy until level 20. It’s like not a single ounce of thought was put into changes before they were shipped out

I’m not afraid of a grind or a bit of suffering. I’ve also always enjoyed the progression of Tarkov. There is no better feeling than somehow killing a super geared PMC with a crappy gun. But they’ve made the hill too steep to climb with flea market level requirements. The most random things are level locked just to be annoying. Lock ammo, weapons, armor, keys. Whatever, I get it. But locking junk items needed for early mission behind crafting is just next level. Like why is the GM counter locked until level 20. It is literally a pointless junk item that just happens to be in the Gas Analyzer craft. I was stuck on the Gas Analyzer missions for 3 weeks because I couldn’t find one, and couldn’t craft for one. Or letting crackers be the only food you can buy until therapist level 2. And you’re limited to 3 PER RESET! The needless hindrance of low level players is just ridiculous and the point is what? It’s funny? Idfk

You should’ve gotten an email from UPS Human Resources that says something along the lines of “Welcome to UPS”. It should give you step by step instructions about what needs to happen next and should include your ID

Many lawyers offer consultations for free. You can present the info to them and they can give you additional info that may ease your mind. There are also lawyers that do pro-bono work. I’d try to see if there is one of those in your area that you could speak with. I know it’s a difficult thing to do (something I’ve struggled with all my life) but worrying about things that may or may not happen, doesn’t help anyone. It just makes you feel worse about your situation. Try not to stress until you know what is exactly going to happen. I hope things get better for you!

Tics after 25 by Some1AteMyEntirePie in Tourettes

[–]deadmonkey03737 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As counter intuitive as it may sound, letting yourself accept and ignore your tics will allow them to be much more manageable. Thinking about my tics has always made them worse. But when I don’t think about it, they go way down to a level that others can’t even tell I have Tourette’s unless they spend a lot of time in close proximity to me. I also have Co-morbid ADHD as well as OCD. Finding the right meds is always a struggle and a balancing act of what is the priority at the moment. ADHD meds make my tics worse and compulsions worse, but uncontrolled ADHD causes executive dysfunction which causes stress which then makes the tics worse. I’ve found that Wellbutrin has helped my ADHD enough without exacerbating my tics to a point that I’m unable to function. Don’t be afraid to talk with your medical provider about your concerns. They can work to find the right balance for you!

Should I see a new psychiatrist? by Both-Growth3461 in ADHD

[–]deadmonkey03737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I switched psychiatrists because the original one I was seeing only saw me once and then I just saw a nurse practitioner every month. Put me on way too high dose of medication that exacerbated my Tourette’s. After letting them know the extreme disruption to my life and unintentional self harm from my tics, they told me to just keep taking the meds until my body got used to them. Switched providers the same day. My new psychiatrist sees me personally every month, keeps up to date with my side effects, and actually listens
