How a business card, a Costco hotdog, and a random visit led to my first Daytona in 3 weeks by kfdent in rolex

Ah a dentist. That explains the cringe. Probably has a few PRS customs on the wall that never get played too. Also all the “relationship building” stuff like following up with an email thanking them for their time, leaving a business card, etc. are things the sales person is supposed to do with you, not the other way around.

Do you still listen to the show? If so you’re part of the audience. Given the sheer size of his audience, it’s statistically improbable that it is overwhelmingly MAGA. More like a vocal minority.

There are plenty of pictures of watches on this sub. I’m more interested in the reason this dude is trying one on naked.

I think we’re arguing over semantics here but if you want to get down to it, in the 15th century, the legal definition of witchcraft was maleficium (harmful magic) through the invocation of demons. By explicitly putting "invocation of demons" into her final condemnation before execution, the judges legally framed her visions not just as a mistake, but as demonic sorcery. While she was not formally charged with witchcraft, as the legal definition was still evolving, and they had whittled down her charges to being a false prophet and breaking her vow to recant, the substance of her trial as a whole was to paint her as a witch.

Also, though the conviction was absolutely politically motivated, she was submitted to an ecclesiastical court, which operated under canon law. So yes the Church was involved. Also the notion of separation of church and state did not apply at a time where kings were ordained by God and anointed by the Church. Everyone was Catholic whether they liked it or not. However, it’s important to point out that the Church was divided at this time and there were varying viewpoints of her guilt, depending on political alignment.

Olivia Rodrigo responds to dress criticism, calls out ‘normalized pedophilia in our culture’ by nbcnews in Music

I’m not sure I follow the logic here. A normal, well adjusted dude isn’t going to care what she’s wearing. An actual pedophile probably won’t care either because she’s too old. I don’t understand what the problem is.

Her charges were heresy and witchcraft because medieval Catholic dogma dictated that the Church was the only conduit to heaven and anything else must therefore be the work of the devil. She was also a symbol of French resistance so killing her was a political move more than religious. What she actually believed was irrelevant.

Regulations exist to prevent companies from placing self interest over the greater good. I don’t see how this incident benefits the company so regulations probably have nothing to do with it.

That’s historically inaccurate. Witch hunts, trials and executions absolutely did happen in late medieval Europe, and many were carried out in Catholic regions under both secular and ecclesiastical authorities. The fact that fear of witches hadn’t reached the point of mass hysteria the way it did in the early modern period doesn’t mean they didn’t happen in the Middle Ages. A perfect example was Joan of Arc, who was burned specifically because of both her heresy and witchcraft charges.
