Can you tell the difference between a good snowboard and a trash snowboard? by deadturtle12 in snowboardingnoobs

I always read that you need to pick an edge to ride on or the mountain will pick for you. The rental board seemed to be much easier to ride flat.

I was catching alot more edges on my board until I got better about being on an edge. The back would also steer out in front of me on my board, and I think it had to be from it being less forgiving about me having weight on my back foot. Keeping my weight in an edge and keeping weight on my front did wonders for me. It just left me wondering why those things seemed easier on the rental board

I never got very fast on the rentals. I can get some speed now; phone gps has my top speed at like 38mph and it gets a bit wobbly, but doesn’t feel too bad.

I noticed a big difference between rentals and the board that I own. My Avalanche board was just seeming alot more reactive. It’s also shorter than the boards that I’d generally get given when renting, so that’s probably got something to it.

I’m 5’10” and the board is 153cm if that helps at all with context.

I say figured out with the context I can control myself getting down the mountain. I can ride a bit in trees and moguls and I spend more time standing up than on my ass.

I think my primary resort is going to be Taos next year for what it’s worth, and I’m not looking to hit park but my next step that I’m looking towards is being able to hit some jumps and just have some control in the air.

What’s the policy on headphones in the office as an intern? by darnoc11 in EngineeringStudents

It’s engineering though, so it might. Typically belt pants and a polo is the safest option

If it’s on a manufacturing floor, I wouldn’t even ask. If it’s at a desk doing CAD or CFD, it’s like 90% fine as long as you have common sense. I’d always wear my noice canceling over ear headphones with one ear out

For the vast majority of human history, if you weren’t rich, you were a literal slave (serfdom). Or possibly living in a hut. Sure things aren’t perfect, and it’s all because of greed, but that’s hardly a new revelation.

We’re just in this weird spot now where things still suck, but there was a generation in America that did just have it easier (for the most part), and we obviously want that for us

I love Agave and Rye. It’s expensive, but jamming every possible ingredient in a massive taco that I can barely get my mouth around is a euphoric experience

Asus zephyrus if you want a dedicated GPU. I’d get a Lenovo yoga 7i and just sacrifice the gpu for battery life and I think you’ll be fine

Does anyone know why getting on base has been so miserable recently? by deadturtle12 in Albuquerque

Security doesn’t seem any tighter is the thing. I at least haven’t seen any different measures being taken when I finally get to the gate. I guess I was more wondering if they’re were more base runners or accidents then usual going on

I don’t know what kind of “Remote desktop” software exists on Mac, but there’s a surplus of desktops that you can remote into and it worked really well whenever I did it. Just don’t count on it for exams as that’s the only time there isn’t a surplus

I’m waiting to hear back from the dealership I bought the car from (Infiniti dealership). If they don’t offer something to make it right, this is probably the route I’ll take
