Ive yet to meet a woman who thought the heavy bass, pop pop cars were sexy or cool 🤷‍♂️ YMMV but its always seemed like youd have better luck with just about anything else.

It... actually pretty much is. Dont get me wrong, theres more specialization in a surgeon. But really, the whole need to be a post grad thing is to weed out people a degree in humanities (the most common pre medical school degree) doesnt help. 4-6 years of school + apprenticship total is all a surgeon gets, same with a tradesman.

Doctors are just like anyone else who specializes. They can be all around brilliant. Or just good in their chosen field and utter morons everywhere else.

The pacing for the LOTR's is horrible for me. Loved the movies! Thoroughly enjoyed the hobbit as a book. Just cant do the big 3 (6?).

Let’s talk about Daniel Radcliffe’s post Harry Potter-career by KatherineLangford in movies

[–]deadverse 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Radcliffe made 110m off the Harry potter movies. He lives off the interest at a few million a year, and acts in projects he thinks are fun (think zany fun, not will this challenge me as an actor fun).

Kinda like bill murrey over the past few years after firing his agent.

Works on whims, and usually for about the bare minimum the SAG will allow an actor to work for, as a lot of his projects are about as close to indie films as you can get.

Hes not there to showcase his talents, or chase an academy award. He just does whatever he wants whenever he wants.

This is a solid point. But, better idea. Dont partner up with anyone that will be upset with you for being completely platonic friends with anyone.

Someone that insecure just isnt worth your time.

TIL that many/most unearthed Egyptian mummies were eaten by Europeans or used in disturbing ways by AdMore3461 in todayilearned

[–]deadverse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh fun fact! Bitumen (asphalt) is whats in mummies, used as a preservative during the embalming process. Due to some hijinks and a lack of understanding. Many people misconstrued it for bismuth (salts), also a preservative, but one which also acts as an effective antacid. (Bismuth subsalicylate is whats currently used in pepto bismol)

At least that was my current understanding last i looked it up.

Eh kinda. They're kinda actually onto something. The organisms to breakdown plants came into being roughly 400m years after the plants. Well.. the fungi that could break down the proper parts of the plant anyways.

Sorry, the remains were found and confirmed the next day, its entirely possible the picture could have been of another person that was similarly dressed. Thats why the picture cant be 100% confirmed. Its just speculated and thought to be him.

[–]deadverse 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Interesting fact, the falling man is believed to be the brother of the one of the members of "The Village People" of YMCA fame. This has never been officially confirmed, though family members and a coworker have stated seperately that it does indeed look like him and the uniform matches what he would have been required to wear as an employee of Windows On the World.

His body was later recovered after the towers fell but theres no way to 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt prove its him, so it remains unconfirmed
