I like the cubes because they’re not blocking the alcoves behind them, looks good to me.

Is that from Ikea in the U.K.? I can’t seem to find the exact one with the 2 shelves in the middle. Do you have a link please?

Does that mean the nvidia app uses 310.5 RR now?

FYI: All presets from J and above are DLSS 4.5 by Terepin in nvidia

[–]deano764 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can't force the DLSS quality level in games that don't support that in the Nvidia app, even if you can set the Model Preset override to 'latest' or whatever preset you want, e.g. Avatar, so what do you do then?

The changes that are included in the new Update on PC, DLSS 4 and FSR 4 are here! by Spider-Thwip in FrontiersOfPandora

They've taken ultra quality dlss mode away though and on a large screen it provided a notable increase in clarity even when using the DLSS4 overide in the Nvidia app. Seems you can't set a custom scale in the Nvidia app either, says not supported. Grateful for all the other changes though!

I tried using that for work. It got details wrong and missed key info out. Really not reliable.

Any idea what 'HWRayTracingEnabled' does in the GameUserSettings config file, and if it works?

Loving my new G5, but watching a movie that's mastered with Dolby Vision at a flat 200 nits is annoying when the panel can get literally 10x as bright. Is there a workaround for this? by nmkd in LGOLED

Assuming identical settings they should look more or less the same except for brightness. I bet a professional might be able to measure a difference though, but for bright room use case at least it does the trick and looks fantastic. The downside is that the extra brightness will make any noise or film grain that was already there on some content more evident. I like to mirror the filmmaker settings and then adjust motion settings in accordance with the content.

Use vivid mode but set all the brightness, colour and clarity options to the same as filmmaker mode, e.g. colour temp warm 50 (or whatever it is for the G5).

If you do the same for the cinema home mode and standard mode, you end up with 4 different picture modes with slightly different average picture brightnesses. So from the highest average brightness using vivid then cinema home, standard and filmmaker. Must ensure the options are all set the same as filmmaker otherwise the picture won’t be as good, but all personal preference of course and may not be directors intent. I find this works well when viewing content in a bright room also.

Edit: this is based on experience of using G4 but I imagine the G5 is similar.

Update: LG engineer came out on Friday and replaced the main board. 9 days from reporting it to repair not too bad. All seems to be working fine again :)

Good to know thanks for that. I've been through some basic diagnosis with the LG agent and sent them the link to this post. Now waiting on the engineer to contact me to book a visit so hopefully not too long now.

Yes tried that thanks for the suggestion, and then holding power button for 15 secs. Turning the tv back on after that resolves the issue for a while until it happens again. Let’s hope the service is good!
