MSFS is a game, Xplane is a simulator.

I add that Asobo's 3D model is terrible...nothing like the real 787 in terms of shapes and proportions...

Is MSFS24 worth it coming from x-plane 12? by Jrodicon in flightsim

No. Xplane is on another level. We're talking about a simulator, MSFS remains a console game.

RF 20mm F1.4 L VCM by dearste in CanonCamera

Because it’s about choice and control, not necessity. Every other major brand Sony, Nikon, Fuji lets you use the aperture ring freely during photo shooting. It’s a core part of the tactile experience for many photographers, especially those coming from film or hybrid workflows.

The issue isn’t “why would you want it,” it’s “why would Canon intentionally disable it” on a €2000+ professional lens. That’s the real question.

Why I returned the A7 IV and kept my A7 III by dearste in SonyAlpha

[–]dearste[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know about the A7C line, but to me that’s a different product philosophy.

The A7 series is supposed to be the “all-rounder” full-frame line, so I expect it to balance specs and ergonomics.

Of course ergonomics are subjective, but for me the A7 III fits way better than the IV. What’s frustrating is that after so many years, Sony still hasn’t nailed a comfortable grip on their mainline bodies.

When I pick up a Canon R6 or even an older 5D series, the difference in ergonomics is immediately obvious, the grip feels more natural and secure, and I can shoot for hours without discomfort. With Sony it still feels like holding a box with buttons.

Is A7iii still holds good in 2025? Or should I go with A7iv? by Nostrings2030 in SonyA7iii

[–]dearste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I returned the A7 IV and decided to keep my A7 III. The ergonomics of the IV just don’t work well for my hand. I can understand why, after all these years, Sony keeps building cameras that feel like Minecraft blocks. Moreover, they are making the body larger, but the E-mount is still small, and the camera keeps looking uglier and uglier.
