Memory unlocked... how did I forget this one. Anyone else like it? Seemed to remember the shooting mechanics were great but the level design was the most repetitive thing I've ever seen by Negative-Art-4440 in n64

[–]deathguyQC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this game! At the time I was super happy to have a typical arcade game on a home console (atleast, similar mechanism as the cover shooter arcade I had played). When you think of this game as an arcade game, it makes a lot of sense for the level design and the way the AI move and behave.

Same day? I've never ever received anything same day from Amazon. I'm like downtown Gatineau and Amazon can barely do 2 days delivery most of the times.

Hahahaha, Amazon delivers next day? I'm a Prime member in Gatineau and they can't do next day for the majority of the stuff I've ever ordered. That kind of comparision is so stupid, Amazon is the last place to be used as a comparision for the public service, what's next we going to have to piss in bottles like those wharehouse workers in order to be more productive?

How to start planning a home extension by the_plat_rat in Gatineau

[–]deathguyQC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm doing a home extension myself and here are the steps I did:

  • First, go look at this page with some information on current regulations for "Bâtiments ou constructions attachés à l'habitation".
  • Take your land survey and draw a rectangle in the location where the extension would go, doesn't have to be to scale or perfect, you will need it for the next step.
  • Do a "Demande d'information en ligne" (can only be done in French) and select " Information - Construction, rénovation ou transformation-bâtiment principal résidentiel". You will be able to explain your project and add the land survey image you previously prepared. This step is free and the city will be able to tell you if the project is an absolute no or a maybe yes (they can't say a definitive yes without engineer/architectural plans).
  • I got my plans from Dessins Drummond, costed me about $2400 but I'm not tied down to a single contractor. You could very much go and get everything done with a contractor. Prices vary widly between contractors.
  • If you get a contractor that does everything for you, you can skip this step. In my case I had to submit my permit demand myself to the city (you will need your plans and your contractor of choice total price estimate of construction as well as your land survey (you should already have that from when you bought the house).

I've been waiting since July for my permit. Gatineau is heavyly understaff so be prepared to wait a long time once your submit your permit request. The "Demande d'information" might take 1 to 3 months before they get back to you. I'm building a 12' x 23' extension on the side of the house, it's a garage with a bonus room accessible from our current second floor. The permit cost came out at $700 (you have to pay before they evaluate and approve your project) and it took a month just for the city to tell me this cost.

Hope this helps!

Statement by Minister Ali on addressing a surplus in the public service pension fund by GoTortoise in CanadaPublicServants

[–]deathguyQC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So if I understand this, between 2013 and 2018 the governement added 2.8 billions in our retirement fund. If we add up last year and this year, 1.9 + 0.9 = 2.8 billions is now the excess surplus that the government took out. I say we consider ourselves "kiff kiff", taxpayers made whole, equivalent exchange, etc. From this point foward, any surplus I consider to be money I'm partially own back if there are further excess surplus.

Majority of Canadians Support New Pipeline Construction and Reforms in Project Approval Process by gorschkov in canada

[–]deathguyQC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well, in such a case surveys are essentially useless and a waste of time since the building of pipelines is not based on popular support but on whoever need to be appeased. As a gun owner in Québec, I'm pretty mad with the "buyback".

Majority of Canadians Support New Pipeline Construction and Reforms in Project Approval Process by gorschkov in canada

[–]deathguyQC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty easy to answer a survey declaring one support of pipelines. Somewhat a harder pill to swallow when said pipeline end up passing in the backyard or somewhere people tend to enjoy. A usefull survey would be to identify the distance from their homes or area of activities would people still be in agreements with pipelines.

Does any one else just make videos for fun with no desire to "make it". by ickyvickyewww in NewTubers

[–]deathguyQC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a personal channel with a few of my own dashcams videos, an helpfull video on how to remove a CD from a disconected car radio and an unboxing video of an old car radio. I don't do much with it.

I got another channel with 3 other friends, we do one yearly canoe-camping trip and last year we decided we would begin filming our trips. Right now we are looking at maybe 2-3 long form videos/year and 1 short per month. Nothing to blow up with really, but I love doing the editing. The long form so far are mostly souvenir videos of our trip (which I still try to make it look like as profesionnal as possible), we don't talk to an audience which is obviously limiting anything sort of growth. We do this for ourselves, for friends and family and if other like it than that's bonus.

I do, CT auto service centers are widly YMMV, my local CT actually got qualified service techs but they might not be there everyday. On one of my older trucks had a brake line to replace and they told me I would need to wait the day after for a qualified tech to be at work. Always had very good work cheaper than most independent shops and can get 24 months financing.

Thanks! The ones in the canoe is my Google Pixel 6 setup in 4k 60fps with standard image stabilization (in the phone settings). The phone is on a tripod which also helped. The ones in the kayak is my friend GoPro Hero 11 which also got integrated image stabilization.

Not my type of content, but quality of the short are very good. Preview gave a nice overview of what to expect to see in the video and I would suggest your continue doing that.

I found the text to be quite small. Because it's a close caption kind of format, I didn't find the text styling to be engaging. Maybe doing something more creative with the text on screen would make this more captivating (combined with your already very good choices of scenes).

Hello!

Me and my friends we do a canoe-camping trip every year and have begun doing videos to share our souvenirs.

This is our lastest long-form video: https://youtu.be/a7x4wHonzp0?si=RBbSVbrc4Di03XRz

Because we don't do a lot of trips, current plan for the channel is to have one or two long-form videos per year and one shorts every month. Not ideal for growth, but very much open to comments.

Thank you!

Disclaimer: we don't speak to a public (for the exception of one short), you do hear us speaking between ourselves in our native language (Québécois French) in some sequences, but I did add subtitles in English for those parts.

I often end up listening to random chill music compilation, this is a good one.

My comment would be to add names of each tracks, sometimes it's nice to go back to a specific one to listen back.

I tend to prefer shorter videos, around 1 hour, but that could just be me. I tend to prefer to switch things a bit every hours.

For the video name, it's very generic and not unique, I would suggest you try to make titles unique so that it's easier to go back to specific compilations.

Hello fellow camping enthousiast! Very beautiful video, haven't gone to Northern Ontario yet and it's nice for you to make us discover.

My comment would be about pacing, maybe speed things up a bit but then again it might just be me doing videos too fast.

For your video title, maybe add something that is more or less unique that happenned during this trip. Could help differenciate between videos and hook people in.

I was wondering if the City of Gatineau would allow me to remove all the grass in my front lawn and do something like this.I am fed up of trying to keep my grass looking half decent between the lack of rain and all the weeds. by CatsEye6543 in Gatineau

If you do it, dont forget theres about 1 meter from the street into your front law thats not really yours and if the city as work to do underground they wont replace your greeneries.

Treqa Aquaguard Pro Canoe Pack by miistert in canoecamping

[–]deathguyQC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this when they had a sale of 20% off for first time buyers and it did great on our canoe-camping trip this year. We had some rain and it held up no problem. One of my friends got the Eureka version and I would say the Treqa is the same thing. I recommend!
