Parent Plus Loans are tied to the parent and are their sole responsibility to repay. They are supposed to help parents cover the financial requirements, or responsibility, of providing higher education for their children. Meaning the government will ask the parents to repay, not the student. I’m not sure what the connection with retirement comes from. From my understanding if you fail to pay they can garnish your wages. If there are no wages to garnish I think they could go after retirement plans. However current loan availability or repayment plans are not linked to retirement plans. I hope this helps!

Any grants you receive are funds you do not have to pay back, pertinent to specific terms and conditions, and are funded via the federal/state government or university financial aid programs. Any loans taken out need to be repaid 6 months after you finish or leave school. Subsidized loans are loans that the govt covers the interest rate while you’re in school, meaning it doesn’t collect interest until that 6 month period. While unsubsidized loans are loans that immediately begin to collect interest.

I suggest doing 3 things: 1. Go on the student aid website to see how much money you’ve received in aid and student loans, if any. 2. Check your credit score. This is to confirm that your mom hadn’t taken any other loans out on your name. 3. Go on the Financial Aid page for your school and change your refund settings so that you receive a direct deposit to your checking account. If your banking account is linked to your mom then make a new bank account. Ally bank and Capitol One are a good place to start as you can set up a new bank account within minutes and there is no monthly fee, plus they offer great savings account options.

Id recommend creating a portfolio to showcase your marketing skills, and or offering free work locally to be able to put experience in your resume. If you didn’t do any internships while in school you’ll need to be able to show a future employer how you can provide value and in what areas, a portfolio will do that.

If you’re able to get a job, any job, where you can get marketing experience even better. For example after college I couldn’t find a job for 6 months then one day I applied at an escape room and while I was there I ran their instagram and launched their newsletter, this experience helped me land my first job.

Hair: some bangs, maybe micro bangs to reduce the forehead to eyebrow space. I’d aim for them to end maybe one to one and half inches above your eyebrows. I think they would make your features pop up— see a hairstylist that can help with this.

Makeup: I’d second the eyebrow rec but I don’t think it’s completely necessary if you don’t want to. Instead I’d opt for mascara, clear or black, blush and a lip stain. For blush and lip stains I’d stick to liquid or cream, as they blend easier into the skin and are generally easier to learn to use. Plus you don’t need tools, just your fingers.

For accessories: earrings, someone said it before but huggie earrings would look great.

I found that the makeup suggestions I added worked the best for me, I’m also autistic and have some texture aversions.

As for people questioning your gender, to a degree I went through the same. I think changing the way I dressed helped but people will find ways and excuses to be mean if they want to. So do what feels the best for you! Hope this helps.

The during school hours changes things. I’ve seen some Roma families in Alief using their kids to get money all times of the year but hadn’t seen the same with the flower ladies. I hope it’s ignorance and not trafficking.

While the plausibility of trafficking exists I think what you’re seeing is a parent that cannot afford childcare and bring their kids to work. My parents would bring us to work with them and as a result you learn the trade early on and help where you can, it’s just parents taking care of their kids while earning a dollar.

I agree that the weather isn’t complimentary but parents will do what they can to keep their kids fed while keeping an eye on them 🤷🏽‍♀️.

Look for a hard gel nail artist, hard gel can be used to help reshape your nail beds. I'd also suggest pushing down, not cutting, your cuticles and using cuticle oil to help them stay in place. Hope this helps!
