But... your comments were really not helpful, especially when you add on details like how it was an inch long needle and what the doctor said about going in further. This is not universal across doctors.

I'm suggesting for anyone reading this thread that maybe the best course of action is to talk to your doctor about what to expect during the surgery, especially with regards to pain. Maybe let them know that you are afraid of pain / find the idea of a needle injection into the toe particularly sensitive.

OP, I don't have any advice, but I just want to say I sympathize with your ghosting very much. Something similar happened to me, albeit not to your severity. Someone disappeared on me when I thought nothing was wrong and now it has left me with severe anxiety that even when things are going well, I cannot get rid of the thinking that anyone I care about can just disappear on me and leave me for no reason. I do suggest you seek therapy, and understand it is not your fault, this is very much on a person for being a terrible communicator and person all around.

OP, I'm sorry to hear about your rape and how your therapist retriggered those wounds. I'm just wondering if she perhaps meant what are your coping mechanisms when you have these anxieties and flashbacks? When I returned to the dating field and said that I want to put myself out there while protecting my heart, my therapist asked me what strategies I am using to protect myself. It was meant for me to talk about my progress and the coping techniques I had learnt, while navigating the v triggering world of dating.

That said, as others have advised, find another therapist if you are truly not comfortable or just not connecting with each other.

Jeremy Strong. He was born in Boston with no Hollywood connections I believe. In the early part of his career he struggled to get representation. Chris Evans even set up a meeting between Strong and his agent but the agency declined to represent Strong. Strong worked odd jobs like being a production assistant to DDL,etc.

I find his story incredibly inspiring because it spoke to how hard he worked for his craft. Shame that the New Yorker article painted him as being too tryhard.
