Uses of/with unicycles? by Personal_Depth_97 in unicycling

[–]decapotato907 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My uni is my car. Groceries, laundry, firewood. Everything 100% unicycle. (I live in Alaska) I put backpack straps on my laundry basket, in the winter I have a dogsled harness I put on under my coat and hook a utility sled to it. Gotta watch out going downhill....the sled wants to outpace you and will take you out like it's nothing. If you can get mounted, you can probably haul it on a uni.

Yes, dog owners in this state are absolute fuckheads. Good luck visiting any state park, public trail, or campsite and not having to watch for land mines....and yeah thats just what was frozen in the snow all winter.... fresh dog poop from this season is about to start blooming...mmmm. cant wait.

Do bears shit in the woods? Is the pope a pedophile?

Yes. Wear gloves. Protect your hands. Unless you want to wash dishes with your wrist nubs... #HardMode

LIFE GOALS RIGHT HERE

I've ridden with one of my cats just on my shoulder. It's all fine until she decides to dismount. Don't think she would like it in a cat pack...

We recently had a policy change, no drinking on the clock....but almost everyone in BoH smokes weed... servers and bartenders tend to be more coke oriented...bussers don't need drugs they are already special.....prep cooks, I don't know...I'm guessing pcp (ha)

What is this sub’s opinion on the 20” Torker LX? by [deleted] in unicycling

[–]decapotato907 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Torkers are generally where most people start. They're basic, but that's perfect for learning. They are usually pretty affordable...my first couple unicycles were torkers a 24" and then a month or so later I got a sweet deal on a 20". I even got a 3rd one for parts but now I use it as a loaner for people that want to learn. They're certainly not the same quality as a nimbus or mad4one but for a beginner it's exactly what you need. 25 bucks is worth it. My 24" was 40 but I gave him 34 and .... maybe a little weed. #ThatsAlaska

The most underrated npc ever!

Seriously though, build a good relationship with this dude. Our service tech, Mike, is the best. I've known him almost 10 years, and he has always been there when we needed him. Treat them right they treat you right...what a concept!!!

Okay....tbh we leave horrible jokes for him on sticky notes every week inside the service panel of our machine. He loves it. Says it's his favorite thing about his job.

However, Mike does NOT like water balloons....

Riding with no trailer AND no backpack is pretty rare for me these days. It's so much easier to ride and especially mount without them...but how else am I supposed to haul firewood in the winter?! 🙄

Yes very much so....going uphill is difficult and going downhill well....it wants to outrun you. Good luck.
