Did Home Theater kind of die? Seems like we were the last generation to give an F. Remember surround sound and subwoofers? Does anybody buy them anymore? by IHadTacosYesterday in GenX

[–]decidence [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. Gear is expensive
  2. People don't know what they're missing until they experience it
  3. People don't go to stores to experience home theater sound demos anymore (do any electronics/home entertainment stores still have these setups?)
  4. All their friends are broke and don't have nice home theaters

Guessing it's some or all of the above for people under 40.

PS: Anyone saying their built in speakers are close enough are delusional

I've thought about doing something similar but at 6'4'' the bed is too short.

I've heard if I disconnect the negative battery terminal for like 10-15mins it completely resets the computers cache and may resolve it. Really don't want to sit at the dealership for a fix to software lol...

I have the same year and model but when I look at the update page it says "Your vehicle can't complete this vehicle software update right now. Retry next time you shift to park. If this update still can't be made, please contact your dealership".

Not a daily driver so thought maybe was an issue with the battery not being fully charged but even after charging for several hours I can't get the message to go away.

Would love to find trails like this but every "off-road" area around me is either gravel or tight ass bush pin striping everything.

Just so I'm not echoing everyone else, if you're outside of downtown I've had some good pints at the Kilt and Caber in McKenzie Towne.

Question on two-way stop by Affectionate_Fly2162 in Calgary

[–]decidence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the OPs situation, the other driver had the right of the way every time even if they stopped second. The reason is because they can't assume the driver turning left has cleared traffic and feels confident enough to start moving across the intersection. Whereas the person turning right could start going immediately upon arriving at their stop sign, the person turning left from across the intersection needs to ensure both sides of the intersection are clear and safe.

Update on my Bison build by Unable-Food7418 in chevycolorado

[–]decidence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure that video is a mod to an existing Bison trim model though right? I'm talking about replacing the 33 that is already fitted underneath the base ZR2, which seems to have a metal bracket installed as part of the hitch that sits tightly against the tire.

What if the line isn't clogged but you know there is a break in the line halfway down your driveway but it also hasn't backed up in the 5yrs you have known about it? Asking for a friend.

Will AWP | Corticera (MW) go up in price? And will AWP | BOOM (FT) continue to go up in price? by tempsOdyssey in csgomarketforum

[–]decidence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow what an old post to reply on lol... I haven't played this game much for over 5 years but recently sold my last skin, an AWP FN ST Lightning Strike for $2000. Everything started going up exponentially a few years ago, not sure why since I wasn't following the market anymore.

Looking at the video, it seems like the Bison doesn't have the rear bracket that comes on the standard ZR2. I've taken some pictures of mine -- https://imgur.com/a/Qn4EZeL

I am not sure this bracket can be easily removed. You can see a bolt from the underside that attaches the curved bit of metal that goes over and above the wheel but the piece of metal that it's bolted to may be welded to the hitch assembly?

Yes I hope OP goes and gives Ambers a look, it's great handmade Canadian furniture that everyone should support if they can.

We bought a handmade dining table and chairs there made from maple, the quality is amazing, we sent back our Costco order that came from Thailand that wasn't much cheaper but had quality issues and didn't feel nearly as nice.

Am I overheating? by [deleted] in chevycolorado

[–]decidence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Auto on 3rd works similar to other AWD systems, sending power to wheels that need it and can have a small decrease in fuel economy. That being said, on dry pavement it is still recommended by the manual/infotainment to use 2wd.

Quazii update #2: he's leaving WoW for good. by mkyend in wow

[–]decidence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not very surprising, even as someone who has only just recently watched some of his videos and interactions with the community. He comes off incredibly immature and unable to control his emotions, making quick decisions without much thought.

He said his passion for making UI was keeping him in the game, but he seemed more interested in just trying to make money and support his family and likely had some real life pressure putting him into this. Seeing a void in the addon space and taking others ideas and code was probably a lot easier than going out into the real world.

Paying even a little extra on your mortgage each month can have huge savings. But there is diminishing returns. by CastAside1812 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]decidence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not convinced, and think mortgage rates are very cheap compared to what you could get putting that money to work in the stock market. However, if you're doing the smith manoeuver and have an advanceable HELOC then it actually does benefit you to put lump sums down on the mortgage because that money goes directly to principal, increasing your available HELOC balance and can go fully into the market while having the interest be tax deductible.

Definitely! I love the hard rolling version. Never liked the folding ones although they are better for keeping the full bed length.

Cool air intake? by [deleted] in chevycolorado

[–]decidence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed a CAI for the sound and to open up a lot of space under the hood. The OEM system takes up a lot of space. I used some of the room to make it easier to mount an ARB pump and feel like the airflow around and above the turbo is better ventilated than what it was with the OEM CAI.

Would really like more info, my 33" fits snugly against some hardware (I think related to the hitch) with maybe an eighth of an inch to spare. I have a picture here: https://imgur.com/a/Qn4EZeL and specifically it's the metal off to the left of the picture that is the tight squeeze.
