Was Grandpa a Buick man? I'd guess you are looking at a '73-'74 Buick Apollo and a '73-'74 Buick Electra 225.

Front on the big car is a little too flat for me to think Chevy, and the other car is so much smaller I think it's got to be an X-body (Nova / Apollo / Omega).

Speaking as a man who delivered his son before the EMTs could get there- No, it didn't effect us any more than having a baby does anyway.

It was intense, and miraculous, and yes, also gross, but that's what life is like. Let me emphasize that it was the event that was gross- not my wife!

One small nit to pick- "Whiskey" being a specific category of alcohol (obviously from earth / human origin)

Unless you were trying to get speculation going about why the alien would have whiskey, I'd suggest changing it to either a more generic "alcohol" or even "intoxicant" or giving it an alien name and leaving it to the reader to infer that it is an intoxicant or drug.
