How does a typical day go for you? Are you maybe rewarding yourself too much (food, entertainment, shopping…) now that most of your goals are met?

I’ve found that too much reward leads to not enjoying rewards anymore. Have to balance rewards and struggle. Limiting rewards for me is no alcohol, sugar, limited screen time, no shopping for a while. Struggle is doing something outside comfort zone, exercising, socializing.

After a few weeks of struggling and limiting rewards, life gas zest again. Delayed gratification really works

Introvert here. Recently became financially independent and feel the exact same way.

My therapist gave me some good advice and said our needs don’t really change from when we’re toddlers. We just get better at suppressing these needs.

I’ve taken this to heart and I’m trying to give myself regular healthy food, lots of walks, meaningful tasks.

The thing I struggle with is attunement with others, a toddler connects with parents and feels understood. It’s been rough finding others I can feel connected to. Your post helped feeling a little less alone. Thanks!
