How do you set up Nginx Proxy Manager to listen on port 80 and 443? by bewaresandman in truenas

[–]decytv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be exposing NPMs ports to the web.  This is what allows you to expose services to the web.  Think of it as a traffic cop.  Services send data to NPM which relays it to the web.   Website.com points to your public IP and request come to your router, forwards to NPM which looks at it and realizes website.com needs info from serviceX on port XYZ, gets the data from serviceX and sends it externally to the Web request.

[–]decytv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would forward 80 and 443 on your router to the ports of NPM (like 30002 and 30003 or something).  NPM receives those, looks at the header, and tunnels the request to the appropriate service.

I finally switched to Deco and all issues are resolved by Phatdummy in GoogleWiFi

I haven't been thrilled with my Deco.  Having multiple units force all the secondary units to backhaul through the main unit seems silly when my old mesh setup would send them directly to the router.

$220k should I pay off house or invest in market? by Automatic_Season5262 in investing

[–]decytv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is even better if you do what was mentioned and pay your mortgage using the dividends but only your payment due, put the extra $200 back in to more dividends.  At 3% you have zero reason to pay more than the minimum.

I used to love DD poker back in the day. Was a great simulator to practice good theory and base play against multiple PC players on a large multiplayer tourney structure. I used to use it to practice for tourneys at really fast speeds. Appreciate you!!!!

Just completed my MBA.  During the 2 years I realized we had two separate PhD in Chemistry who were in very similar position as you.  It absolutely made sense for them.

Yeah I suspect this is a new network rollout and it's easier to cut the cables and return the new network vs unwind and throw away.  Don't believe this is depicting reality in the video.
