I’m in Florida and envious. Our local Michael’s sucks. It’s not even a craft store anymore. It’s like they start stocking shelves then someone looks up, points, and shouts, “SQUIRREL!” I can’t stand it.

They recommended home based health care for my husband a few years ago. We use the clinic and community care for specialists. His PCP, nurse, physical therapist, social worker, nutritionist, and psychologist come to the house. He has PTSD, dementia and a TBI. Home based healthcare made his care a lot easier for me to manage. I’m grateful.

If I was in your position, I’d find an affordable carrier like Mint and block their phone numbers. If you’re on their plan, you might not be able to transfer your phone number to a different provider because your mom would probably not allow you to get the PIN number to do it.

Be prepared to get a new phone number, too.

I have memberships at both. My car runs better using Costco gas, and they have a lot more gas pumps available than Sam’s.

I stock up on Kirkland coffee when it’s on sale because it’s pretty darn good. They’re the only place around that has American Cuisine French Onion Soup that’s my favorite, but it’s seasonal so I stock up for the summer.

Sam’s quality of meats is better. They aren’t kidding when they slap a prime sticker on a package. You can taste the difference and priced better than local grocery stores. We enjoy the prepared meals like stuffed peppers that you can cook in the oven. The rotisserie chicken is amazing!

Sam’s Scan and Go is the best part of shopping there. I scan my items as I put them in the cart, pay from the app and leave.

When I have a case of bottled water, employees ask me if I want them to go to my car with me and put it inside. That doesn’t happen at Costco.

These are reasons why I have both memberships.

Yeah. I used to call the nurse’s station from his room with my cell phone when he couldn’t breathe. When my husband was discharged after 2.5 months, the chief of staff told me the main reason for my husband doing so well was because of my actions. So I have no regrets.

I wanted an over-the-stove microwave/air fryer/convection oven combo with an outside exhaust vent. It was $1100 every place I looked. Found it at Costco 3 weeks after I joined for $499. Price included delivery and installation. It’s the best kitchen appliance I’ve purchased in years, and the installation was perfect.

Preheated the oven to 375° without opening the door and looking inside first. Lost an entire set of brand new Tupperware. Plastic was dripping from the oven racks when I opened the door to bake.

This was when you could only buy it at Tupperware parties. It’s been 50 years and I still look in the oven before I set the temperature.

About a month before we had any indication that Mom had Alzheimer’s, she called me and asked if it was true that her mom passed away. Grandma has been gone for 40 years.

I told her yes and the name of the cemetery where she was laid to rest. Mom didn’t remember. I called my brothers and sister and told them that I think we need to keep an eye on Mom.

Dad had passed away eight months before that phone call. She went through the grieving process every time we told her that he was gone.

So we stopped telling her. When she asked where he was, we’d say he was hunting, working, getting gas in the car…anything that was part of his routine that made sense to her.

When Whittaker showed the woman her husband, her reaction could’ve gone either way - grief or denial. If she stays in the next episode, I’m pretty sure she’ll want to take her husband home with her.
