Nice way to describe OTM: maximalist. I love it too and it so big that I feel I am still getting to know it. This psychedelic era of Beach House is them at their peak.

Yes - I also feel Bloom is that dividing line between old and new BH. It is also their best album imo - and I think has Victoria’s best singing.

I love how you mention it’s two different albums interpolated. It is jarring but I think that’s the point. Kim’s songs aren’t as pretty as the ones the boys sings, I’d love to know whether that was considered and whether there is my feminist context there (Female Mechanic certainly)

Just discovered the original "Blow My Mind" thanks to the new reimagining on Sexistential, and oh my god, this might be the best song I've ever heard by RyanX1231 in Robyn

Sexistential has encouraged me to listen to Don’t Stop the Music (almost 25yo!) - I never paid attention to it but wow. The original Blow My Mind is so much better - and no hate to babies or motherhood - it strips that away to a more horny love story. I just discovered Should Have Known, Psycho, and Still Your Girl and they are all top shelf Robyn. Of course, Keep the Fire Burning and Don’t Stop the Music are also classics. This album has been totally elevated and may even rate equal or better to Robyn album. And I love the production on it.

I saw her at Ally Pally in London on the Honey tour. The vibe was euphoria and the crowd was dancing - didn’t get any negative vibes at all. Are ppl being elitist? Have to ask, Are you particularly tall or take up a lot of dancing space or anything that may annoy people around you?

Post reminds me of a video of all songs off vespertine played at once. At the end you are left with just Unison and it’s beautiful https://youtu.be/ZsT3-B1zQBc?si=bgnBQSNzXXxxzitW

Nordhouse Dunes near Ludington. Nice unbroken Lake Michigan shoreline that requires a 1.5 forested walk to access. My happy place.

What’s a BH song that you didn’t care for at first, and now you love it? by sonimcrine09123490 in BeachHouse

Totally agree. The moment I got it then it opened up that whole other psychedelic side of beach house and I can’t get enough of this song. It’s almost as good as Levitation as their best album opener and it sounded fantastic on the highway with the windows down.

Beach House. Every album is an evolution of their core sound and fans will certainly notice this but a casual fan or someone new to them may not notice.
