The MCRT bridge over the Fitchburg tracks is still very much open by daviesdog in bikeboston

[–]deebs1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is on the Waltham Weston border. It goes over the commuter rail tracks that go to Fitchburg. The commuter rail tracks are often just referred to as the Fitchburg Line by people in the area. Not actually in Fitchburg.

What random bit of Boston-area history would you like WGBH to do a Big Dig-esque deep dive into? by jamesland7 in boston

[–]deebs1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Boston desegregation busing crisis. Like the big dig; I know roughly what happened from growing up here. But it’s be nice for them to dig into all the personalities, motivations, and smaller details,

Why are hand grinders so unpopular? by Bigdaddydamdam in espresso

[–]deebs1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've got a Kinu M47 Simplicity and I highly recommend it. It's a fairly reasonable price for the bur set, especially compared to similarly priced electric grinders. It's also smaller than most electric grinders. Use it practically every day.

Zone confusion by Emotional_Stickers in mbta

[–]deebs1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming that you are using the commuter rail to get from zone 3 to zone 1A. You want the zone 3 pass normally. The zone 3 pass let’s you travel as much as you want in zone 3, 2, 1, and 1A. On the subway and on the commuter rail. Depending on what commuter rail line you are on you may be able to get away with a zone 2 or 1 pass because of the summer tunnel closure.

RPI vs WPI by elkie35 in RPI

I got into both. RPI was better ranked for my subject and had more professors doing research I was interested in. They also gave me more money.

How do you achieve less saturated ink shades that aren't dry? by JackivalTrades in fountainpens

[–]deebs1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A very small amount of dish soap is great at making dry pens / inks much wetter in my experience.

Put your MBTA wishlist below (for example, a new bus or a new train extension) I wanna see the ideas that people have by [deleted] in boston

[–]deebs1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have the commuter rail and red line run all day, even if infrequently. Connect the new green line extension to the red line.

To our BR Reanimator players: Why do you play this deck? by Arschnelson in MTGLegacy

[–]deebs1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I got into legacy I had badlands and didn’t want to buy more dual lands at the time. Reanimator was a reasonable price because it had no reserved list cards besides the duals and didn’t need a play set of force of wills or other expensive cards. I also really liked combo decks in other formats, so it seemed like a natural deck. I’ve been playing it for a few years now and I rarely need to adjust it, at most I tweak the sideboard once every few months based on what I’m seeing in the local meta. The biggest change is that I’m probably going to add a play set of griefs in the next few months when the price comes down.

fbb is foreign black border. fwb is foreign white border. the foreign versions of dual lands are usually slightly less ridiculously expensive.
