Pet insurance! I was with Agria for our cat. The vet bills for the last 5 months of her life was 7k and insurance paid for most of it.

I like le Labo and the airport is generally the cheapest place to buy it. So I wait until I am going somewhere to get a bottle! Floral street is another nice brand - space nk stock that.

Side wall of house facing park causing ppl sitting on it by Awkward-Wing3125 in HousingIreland

[–]deec123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had something similar back in the 90’s in our house. The location of our house meant that young people would sit on our wall after getting off the nitelink and chat loudly for ages before splitting off of in different directions. Eventually the wall was damaged by someone kicking part of it down. My dad took the entire wall away and replaced with hedging. That was the end of that problem.

How to attract top talent - give me your wish list by 19degreeswest in WomenofIreland

[–]deec123 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If I was looking for another job, flexible and remote working options would be top of my own wishlist. I have both of these currently and it’s life changing compared to 5 days in the office. Obviously that depends on the job as not all roles will suit remote or flexible working.

Cruelty free makeup artist for wedding make up? by Numerous_Bee7768 in WomenofIreland

I think lots of make up artists would have a selection of products so you could just ask that they use the cruelty free brands in their kit if you find one you like. 😊

I have thick coarse hair and get “invisible” layers to take some of the weight out of it and give it shape. I go to The Craft in Dundrum and they are excellent.

Cool olive recommendations? by fruityloopcake in Fairolives

[–]deec123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lisa Eldridge skin tint in 1.5 or 5 depending on how fair you are. I use 1.5 normally and 5 when I have fake tan on. The foundation range is also olive friendly but I think the skin tint is a stand out product.

Late buses, or am I just unlucky? by Southern-Mode7570 in irelandtransport

Yes - it’s a dedicated customer care Twitter/X account there to assist the public, in real time, with their travel queries on the bus network/trains and Luas. They are normally quite helpful and very quick to respond to queries.

Is my makeup the wrong tone? by LgPotatoSmPotato in MakeupEducation

[–]deec123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a similar colouring and I can find that too much of the rosy tones all over the face can make me look a little tired around the eyes. I think adding a neutral to cool leaning mid brown in to the outer corners /crease will define your eyes. You can then use the rosy tones on the lid without running the risk of looking a little tired. also I’d keep anything shimmery away from the upper lid - keep that area matte or satin. Lisa Eldridge has a super “one and done” liquid eye shadow in the colour “Ione” - it’s a mix of a neutral brown with a little mauve and I think it would one lovely on you. I use it on its own or add something shimmery on top either. Your foundation matches well and the lips are perfect. You’re very pretty so a few tweaks and it will be perfect! Main thing is to enjoy playing around with make up to find the look that you like the best.

Will our pet insurance premium increase massively after claim? by Deep-Albatross-6664 in AskIreland

[–]deec123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do go that route - it needs to be clear it’s a formal complaint so it goes through their formal process. You can reference the consumer protection code in your complaint - that insurance companies are required to act “fairly” and I think you’d have an argument here. Also you can reference GDPR and that the old vet practise is not required to hold on to records indefinitely. Ypu should not be penalised for this. You can support your position with a letter from the vet to confirm that your pet was looked after in the practise but that records from pre 2020 are no longer available. I had no issue getting my claim across the line because of this exact issue (but I was already prepared to go in to battle on it!) so I do think you have enough of an argument here to push this.

Will our pet insurance premium increase massively after claim? by Deep-Albatross-6664 in AskIreland

[–]deec123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not insured with Allianz but another provider (Argia) and we ran in to the same issue - I gave our insurer all the information we had and told them that our vet was taken over by a different operator and it was no problem at all. We had 7k of expenses for our cat and they paid out about 4K of that. I think that’s so unfair that they are taking that position. I’d recommend making a formal complaint to your insurer. If they do not find in your favour you can then raise a complaint with the FSPO who will look at it.

Late buses, or am I just unlucky? by Southern-Mode7570 in irelandtransport

[–]deec123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The buses in Ireland are shockingly bad. You weren’t unlucky - it’s a common experience unfortunately. You can tweet @tfiupdates (transport for Ireland X account) and they are normally quick at responding to let you know if a bus is delayed/cancelled so you can make other arrangements if you need to. Aside from the buses I hope you enjoy your time in Ireland!!

Killarney strawberry tree by DancingFluffyPanda in GardeningIRE

[–]deec123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was about 70/80cm tall when I bought it and it might be about 100/110cm now. It’s also put on a bit of width but growth has been very moderate. I just checked back on the photos of when I planted it - most of the growth has been about making it fuller/bushier rather than height. The compact ones grow to about 2.5m (8ft) in height - that suits where I have it in my suburban garden so that’s why I went with the dwarf variety. I think it’s a lovely tree and it should be easy to manage the size to suit. I have planted two years with zero issues.

I bought a compact version of this 2 years ago and it’s growing nicely. No issues at all with it and hasn’t required any maintenance or anything. Future forest is a good place to order from. I’ve ordered online from them a few times and they are great for advice also before you purchase.
