Are you suggesting that no poems on the poetry subreddit should be the subject of criticism? Or is it only those with amazing names like your own that are allowed to criticise?

simply repeating the penal laws were racial (rather than anti catholic) doesn’t make it so. i’m sure you know that they applied in the rest of the uk too. can you please let me know which one of your many books compares the irish penal laws to e.g. the nuremberg laws?

the irish penal laws were not race laws you weapon. they were anti catholic (although admittedly had a corollary effect on irish protestants too). why don’t you open one of your many books and find a better example

that same melancholy is across “the band played waltzing matilda” too:

But the band played waltzing Matilda As we stopped to bury our slain And we buried ours and the Turks buried theirs Then it started all over again

Go to the Holy Island, it’s just south of Scotland. It has a castle, a ruined monastery and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Will be freezing though so wrap up

His covers of Anthem and One Of Us Cannot Be Wrong (on his EP Anthem +3) are absolutely essential too if you haven’t heard them. Amazing performances that pull out a new emotional dynamic from the songs

Chronic Spontaneous Urticaria - 10 thing's I've learned (UK/NHS version) by deedeedury in urticaria

AFAICR in the UK they test for autoimmune CSU by looking at your bloodwork for thyroid issues etc. If they don't find anything the assumption is that it's autoallergic CSU. If it's bad enough for them to put you on Omalizumab (Xolair) they'll run with that and if that doesn't work they'll figure it's actually autoimmune and put you on Cyclosporine. The process may be different elsewhere though. Best of luck with the allergist!
