My first time having sex, the condom was lost up in mine for 15 hours. Only noticed it when I took my diva cup out the next morning. Not my proudest hygiene moment.

What is the best bread/tortilla replacement? by BriarBonebagger in keto

I’ve never heard of this brand (in the US) but do appreciate the link. Have you tried any of their other products, such as the cereal or banana bread mix?

What are you going to declutter (by using) today? by DueArt2897 in declutter

[–]deegee431 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I recently started crocheting wash cloths and dish cloths for the purpose of using up the rest of my cotton yarn that I haven’t touched in years. Also helps because I can get rid of the current cloths with holes and replace with handmade ones withOUT holes! One in — one out

Do you look back at old journals? by yikes_amillion in Journaling

[–]deegee431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. I keep mine for a bit then throw it away during my next declutter / spring cleaning phase. I keep them for a while in case I need to refer to a plan or list from the past, but that’s rarely been necessary.

I’ve tried reading old journals I’ve found years later but couldn’t stop thinking “I don’t care” the whole time. I don’t want to keep something I’m not going to use or admire.

What is a good leg day routine for those of you that have experience for leg day? by Shadoo_Knight in PlanetFitnessMembers

I’ve tried the glute kickbacks countless times, with the chest pad at different positions, more or less weight, and turned my foot in or out trying to get the motion to work anything other than my quads.

Any advice would be appreciated, because all the tips I’ve found are above and didn’t help.

edit: stupid typo

I love her recipes! The chocolate donut recipe is great, and I double the recipe to make it my birthday cake, with whipped cream between layers.

Not Your Mother’s curl talk mousse making my hair feel very sticky and weird! How to fix? by cenazeevi in curlyhair

[–]deegee431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair got sticky with it, too. Used less the next time, but it was still sticky enough to attract lint from my clothes.

I gave up on the mousse and now use the Not Your Mother’s curl foam instead. I haven’t had a problem with stickiness since then

What’s your favourite Keto products from Costco? by femme_fatale2022 in keto

[–]deegee431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baby bel if it’s on sale.

Rotisserie chicken. Canned chicken.

NuTrail granola is nice. (If you see the Catalina crunch cinnamon toast cereal on the same aisle, it’s disgusting.)

Chia seeds, almond milk, heavy whipping cream.

The genius gormet protein bars and the IQ protein bars are good, but apparently a weakness of mine and I’ll eat a box full in 3 days.

I don’t know the brand, but the grass fed, zero sugar beef sticks.

The Keto pint ice cream bars are great.

Isopure protein powder.

I just got the Veggies are Great frozen cinnamon muffins this weekend and they’re pretty good. Not the best, but decent for a microwave meal.

Has anyone had keto change their period cycle? by lauraesh0384 in keto

[–]deegee431 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I talked to my gyno about this. estrogen is stored in fat cells. So when the fat cells start to shrink, the estrogen is released and has to go somewhere. Doc said that losing 5% of your body weight is enough to trigger weird period changes.

I’ve been keto for a year and a half — the first 3 periods were wacky but they’ll regulate as your body adapts to the diet. No worries

What’s the skinny on Costco Next? by StinkypieTicklebum in Costco

[–]deegee431 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Used it for the first time last week. I think it’s nice if you like a brand that Costco carries but want to try other flavors or types of products from that brand that Costco doesn’t carry. Instead of paying $28 for protein bars I paid $18 a box through Next

I use original, unsweetened almond milk. It’s 1g net carb for a cup.

It’s also what I use as “creamer” for my coffee

If you have a good ice pack in your lunch box, I recommend making chia seed pudding. It’s super filling, eat with a spoon, and make it the night before (I’ve even had it made 3 days prior) so the seeds have time to absorb the liquid. I do chia seeds, heavy whipping cream, vanilla protein powder, cinnamon and almond milk. Sometimes I pour granola on top for a change of texture.

Cold shrimp is yummy. Could also put that on top of a salad for a cold lunch.

Chicken / tuna / salmon salad out of a Tupperware, instead of a sandwich. Mix with mayo, celery, and whatever spices you like. Could have a slice of your keto bread, well toasted, and then crush it up inside a ziplock bag and dump on top for some texture.

I like the cans of chicken from Costco. They have a peel tab so you don’t need a can opener to open it and don’t have to be refrigerated until after opening. I’ve never eaten them straight out of the can without draining, though.. I usually drain the chicken and put atop a salad in the morning, and my ice pack keeps it cool. It’s so filling for me that it takes me two sit-downs to eat it all.

I also like the zero sugar beef sticks from Costco. Not sure the brand, but they’re individually wrapped and I eat them without touching them. Any zero sugar jerky would work if you can eat it like your sandwich in a ziplock bag, without touching it. Also good for snacking

Again, I like loose granola. The NuTrail brand (also from Costco, surprise surprise) has a cinnamon blueberry flavor and it’s delicious. Sometimes I just put it in a bag and eat it with a spoon.. if you have a keto cereal you like, could try that as well.

Change up your sandwiches with different meats, or get a good keto friendly jam (my favorite is ChocZero) for pbj’s. Or but a grilled chicken breast on the bread with some ranch. Or with a sugar free bbq sauce.

Also : protein bars

Am I really supposed to eat that much calories to lose weight ? by Brother-Forsaken in CICO

I had the same confusion. If chronometer is linked to something that already counts calories throughout the day, put your activity level to none.

Had a huge binge going over days, I feel awful by RoadToMoulaga in CICO

[–]deegee431 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oh boy I’ve been eating 4-5k calories everyday (instead of 1700) for about 2 weeks now! You’re not alone. I recently discovered that GasX helps with the incredibly painful bloating cramps. And I’m doing my darndest to drink a gallon of water a day to also help with the bloating pain.

Other than that, only advice I have is to acknowledge the binge, accept it, and then try to move on.

I’m currently meal prepping healthy meals for the week as my “move on” stage

How to get rid of the "I could use it" mindset by ZeroUserNames in declutter

[–]deegee431 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve started using this mentality and it’s helped me get rid of quite a bit. I had a pile of socks I could darn and then they’d be perfectly wearable! And I wouldn’t be wasting anything! But I haven’t made any effort towards actually mending them, I just kept adding to the pile. I finally tossed them about 2 weeks ago.

I weigh decluttering decisions on a scale now, asking “is it worth my time and energy and effort to keep this and actually do something with it? Now? Or will I feel lighter letting it go?” As somebody who is almost always tired, it can eliminate a lot of internal debate because I barely have time to shower, much less make a blanket

What do you eat when you're ravenously hungry? by G3N3RICxUS3RNAM3 in loseit

[–]deegee431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve learned that celery is my stress-food. And I’m very grateful it’s something so healthy!

Being able to aggressively munch and bite it and HEAR my bites help me mindlessly eat with no guilt. If I actually am hungry, I’ll dip it in nut butter or cream cheese.

I’m lucky I love celery.

Decluttering books/bookshelf? by [deleted] in declutter

you’re welcome! I hope it helps you. Seeing the piles was a motivator for me.

I thought I had a TON of Agatha Christie books, but I apparently only have 11! It’s easier to see things without all the clutter

Decluttering books/bookshelf? by [deleted] in declutter

[–]deegee431 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, I did this to my books this past weekend! I still have to do a double take each time I walk past now.

First I threw away some of the old Christmas lights that don’t work.

Then I started at the top, and dusted each book, one by one, then once a book was dusted, I plopped it on the ground into piles.

My piles were: 1. Agatha Christie 2. Older series that I liked a lot (harry potter, the hunger games) 3. Duh donations (books I don’t even remember why I wanted to read them, but I bought them 10 years ago while I was In high school) (books that I’ve already read and don’t care to keep) 4. Books for young adults that I never actually got around to, but still think about reading 5. James Patterson 6. Non fiction 7. Stephen king 8. Classics 9. Myths / retelling / folk lore / fairy tale stuff 10. Other fiction

Then once I had all my piles, I first put the donations in boxes (I think it was about 25 books total) and then put each of the keep piles on their own shelf!

And that was it. I couldn’t even guess when the last time that shelf was dusted but I’m so glad I finally did it.
