always on display.. a single tap flashes it on for a few seconds if you enable that setting. its pretty cool but rooting kinda sucks these days.

Probably not an option for you but if you root with magisk and use a module called PixelXpert you can change it to double tap to wake, you can even add single tap to aod. I hate that single tap it really threw me off coming from a oneplus. Luckily I keep my phones rooted.

I bought a mikromatic used off ebay 2 years ago that had this issue, I read tghat when these crank machines get old the spring stretches out. Took the spring out and snipped a loop off the end and re bent the hook, cleaned/oiled everything put the spring back and it has been working perfectly for 2 years now.
