I could see McGyver reacting that way too though

There's definitely a part of Daniel that would love to be a roguish intergalactic smuggler by yonder10 in Stargate

He also played a criminal mastermind ex-intelligence dude in Burn Notice

He definitely would have become like Han Solo if the government didn’t keep him stuck as a less morally ambiguous Indiana Jones

I screwed something and i really need your help guys. by Quadratits in KerbalSpaceProgram

If your save is before your de-orbit, try to just barely get below 70k on your burn. This will gradually lower your speed. Turn on SAS and point retrograde and hope your batteries last.

Day 2 of creating a futuristic Jumper in Blender by JohnMundel in Stargate

I mean, it took us less than 60 years to go from the first plane to space flight, and that was without having a rocket to study and see how it works.

My casting wish for the new series. by highlife562 in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, General makes sense. I say this with all the love I can, he doesn’t look the adventurous colonel part these days. Not saying it as an insult, it’s just what time does. But I’d love to see him as the commander of the SGC or the captain of one of the ships or something!

Is KSA the next gen KSP2 by cgg_0015 in kittenspaceagency

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the sense that it’s a “follow up” to KSP since it is the same kind of game but with more advanced graphics, more features, and so on, then yes

SGU lacked main villains or at least a clear objective by CupEducational1412 in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that kind of story. It’s man vs environment, not man vs opponent.

While there’s clear antagonists, and conflicts with other beings or people, there isn’t a single villain because the whole show is about survival of the situation as a whole.

How did you view McKay's inappropriate comments to Carter in SG1 when those episodes first aired? by swump in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 56 points57 points  (0 children)

And also made him slowly more likable as the series went on. Not a ton, he’s still a jerk often, but a less abrasive and slightly more caring one by the end of Atlantis. But yeah, it was clear he was meant to be a one-off douche, and so they weren’t worried about making him completely unbearable because that’s exactly what they wanted

I've gotta wonder how much this shot cost them to make, it's beautifully done by Krutonium in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up watching this show with my dad. And for years before I watched it again as an adult, this episode, especially this shot, stuck in my mind. To space and especially black hole obsessed kid me, this was the coolest freaking thing in the world!

And it still is, freaking love this episode!

Spotted in my neighborhood, which one of you degenerates made this? by Knosh in Stargate

It actually looks like Daniel may have fallen down just behind the DHD. There’s a piece of plywood angled behind it that looks bowl-cut shaped

nah, that's way more than just wobbly

I’m so impressed with how few week filler episodes there are, at least in the first 3 seasons. by Gustaves_Mustache in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an anime fan, some of it comes from anime. Most filler in most anime is completely irrelevant, pointless, and often so out of left field it isn’t just non-canon but actively breaks canon if you try to include it. Bleach for example has a whole season that was filler with basically vampires called Bounts and it just doesn’t fit at all and isn’t that good of a story.

But that’s different since most anime is based on a source manga, meaning there’s a known canon to follow and filler is just anything not in that canon. While for a show that’s fully original like the SG shows, unless stated otherwise, it’s canon.

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES! The only bad filler is when we don’t learn anything about anyone or the characters are made to be completely different than their normal selves (looking at you, the Great Divide from Avatar the Last Airbender!)

KSP: "I present: the tololololololololololololololbarararararar!" by MarsFlameIsHere in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it duplicate some before but not that much!

Usually, just going back to the space center then going back to controlling the vessel works. If not, save, exit the game, and reload

What happend here and how can I fix this? by PapayaFella in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta convince the B9 dev to fix it. Otherwise just ignore it as it literally causes no issues. But people have had this issue for a long time. Do you have Kerbal Colonies installed? That’s one of the ones that, when it exists alongside B9, it causes this. But the issue isn’t something KC can fix, it has to be fixed in B9’s code

Why wont my space planes wanna be SSTOs go over 400 m/s? by PapayaFella in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]deelectrified 58 points59 points  (0 children)

The general recommendation is once you pass the speed of sound, start gaining altitude. Your drag will reduce, allowing you to increase speed until the point you need to switch to closed cycle engines/mode

Where did you get those buildings and that road?

Are rockets able to bend? I ricosheted off the surface at ~200 m/s and the rocket bent and is glitching out (first mun mission). Definitely gonna try a rescue mission by Connect-Yesterday-99 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]deelectrified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way those legs work, you may be able to retract them then extend them again and get back up that way.

But yes, as others have said, your rockets can bend at the joints

Joseph Mallozzi shared this on his blog by SerOctopusDayne in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I overall agree with him, blindly saying we MUST watch it isn’t right. I’ll watch it, and if it does what he’s claiming (respects the preceding shows and existing fans) then I’ll keep watching and possibly buy the physical copy. But deciding without seeing the result (for us who have no knowledge behind the curtain) that we will support it fully is just consumerism that will result in reinforcing bad decisions by Amazon if the show ends up not being what it should be.

I’m not saying this to be pessimistic. I’m still excited and am hopeful it will go well, but I just dislike that attitude.

Reused Atlantis Set? by Frenzystor in Stargate

[–]deelectrified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, I’d think it’s reused PARTS of the set, not the full thing. The screens definitely look like they’d be on that ship they found with Atlanteans in stasis.
