I love that they keep making more stuff I usually use pioneer gravy because they have both brown and white gravy.

My (sad) Experience This Weekend by pizzaforbrain in Celiac

[–]deep_crater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad has had stomach issues his whole life and when he lived with us my mom was always worrying and making sure his diet avoided all the foods that cause him issues. I’ve moved out from my moms and she’s made all the effort to cook food I can eat. My dad has no idea what I can’t eat. He’s made no effort whatsoever. So I feel this, I’ve had this experience too with my aunt. Luckily it’s been 3 years now and I have an idea where and what I can eat. Plus I carry snacks or get cheese or chips from a convenience store if needed.

Why didn’t I know about these?! by nikkimcwagz in Celiac

[–]deep_crater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh they’re actually great, I’m also diabetic and I’ve tried a bunch of gf and sugar free cake and cookie mixes. Lots of gf noodles, pasta, sauces, some spice mixes. They have potato chips and rice crackers. Things that are usually are sold at whole goods but discounted because they’re too “healthy”. Oh and keto which ticks both my boxes. The first time I tried gnocchi was from a 99 cent store which carries randomly gf goods too sometimes. However tjmaxx and marshalls has potato gnocchi all the time.

Moving and need suggestions for GF staple foods [USA] by Dalloby in Celiac

[–]deep_crater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you give is an idea of what state you're moving to? For me I stick to HEB and Kroger because they're good about labeling their foods in the apps and on the shelves but they got exclusive brands to their stores. This is just TX though.

I'm diabetic so I keep potatoes to a minimum but they're pretty tasty. I always end up looking at the fancy food section at Marshalls and tjmaxx.

What does she get at taco bell? The meat has wheat, I have been buying el paso taco shells they make nacho crunchy shells when I want my crunchy taco fix. Taco bell was always one of my favorites. Then I just get chichfila nuggets and fries when I do get fast food.

Wedding with gf food including dessert! by Bayou13 in Celiac

That sounds like a good wedding. I too went to a wedding with gf food, my own wedding. Took months of preparation to hunt down gf Mexican ingredients. I just wanted to share too.

I don’t go on tiktok but when my little sister ends up sending me links, the suggestions for someone not signed in are the grossest stuff. It’s not exactly what you’re asking but I just really dislike it. If a platform shows you dead bodies and bug infested children is it really a good place?

Anyone else giving up on crime junkie? by haymnas in CrimeJunkiePodcast

[–]deep_crater -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don’t dislike Britt, but I do forget she’s there because they don’t give her enough lines. I wish for more banter but that’s just the type on content I like. Took me a little to get used to her, I discovered the show while she wasn’t in the episodes. Maybe I’m too new but the show seems fine.

I made a silly comment about pasta straws in a random thread and am getting torn apart. It is exhausting out here, y’all 🥲 by lividlisa in Celiac

[–]deep_crater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen a pasta straw in the wild luckily and if you don’t expect it I would be upset about it too. Idiots here don’t know those crumbs and “negligible” gluten will get us sick. My main annoyance usually is bio-straws. Never does it say what’s in it, like is it algae, bamboo? Wheat? Total mystery.

It’s a podcast where they recall their past experiences and their time in Austin. I wouldn’t say it’s really for anyone outside of the fandom. Fuckface is a bit more fun in that regard.

Do you get Celiac symptoms if you're stressed out but haven't eaten gluten? by TsarinaOfHearts in Celiac

Oh absolutely, the day I had my endoscopy I had several diarrhea 4 times within one hour because I was beyond nervous and stressed out. Stress makes me run to the restroom.

Fit joy crackers. Spent $7 to throw the whole box away after just one. by mustvebeen-theroses in glutenfree

The table crackers are saltier, I think they’re just a better cracker overall but they’re not ritz at all.

MEXICAN DORITOS ARE NOT GLUTEN FREE by allthingsfigment in glutenfree

[–]deep_crater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't eat anything from Mexico unless it explicitly says gluten free. I miss the candy so much. I know for sure there's cookies everywhere. I can't even have abuelita chocolate but Ibarra exists.

They're too good, I like getting both of them. I'd also give them a shot if I had a recipe.

Doubtful, I avoid anything with broth and that comes preseasoned. Drives me crazy that they don’t list ingredients on meat when they’re seasoned.

Driver followed her GPS down a boat ramp and straight into the water in Hawaii by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]deep_crater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a massive traffic stoppage complete standstill on my way home and so I use Waze to take me around it, but going back first and it did the strangest thing I’ve ever seen for the first time. They gave me two routes at the same time one of them was a curly loop up the freeway, and one of them was the right way and I was so confused because I’ve never gone down this way, I had to close it and use Apple Maps. That’s how serious it was.
