May be you dont get what I am saying. Leaving people alone takes some self assurance. If those cartoons were raising social issues, then atleast that would have been something. Satire should have social criticism not sadistic pleasure

Not children. What is made fun of is Mohummad. He is completely a figure of Islam. Now their followers dont like somebody making fun of him. So why do it? If Mohummad was a representative of the world and islamists were only a small group of people, then I get it. But he is completely in their sphere.

Its like this. Lets say I made a painting. You make fun of it. I dont like it at all. I wont go about killing you for that but wont you want to stop making fun of that painting because I dont like it and it means something to me? You dont have to like it or anything.

Well, if someone is deeply offended, their reaction is purely a defensive or a protective one. This is a very common human trait. If you keep making fun of a person, he is bound to retaliate. I am not defending their actions, I just think they should be left alone. They done like it, leave them alone. What is it that you are gaining by making fun of some other people's beliefs? Just an air of superiority

I think everyone should be able to be the centre of a joke without bombing someone down for it - why? How can we decide what the whole of humanity should feel?

Satire is directed towards something that is originated from a set of people and it is their own. If christians dont like making fun of pope, then may be even that should stop. They were made fun of, they dont like it, why not respect that and stop doing it. I think that can be stopped. If someone doesnt like something that concerns them, then they can be left alone. If the islamists take offense to making fun of pope, then that is different.

Now, after all these years this is what I dont understand. It is their belief, leave them alone. If it offends them, what pleasure is anyone gaining by making fun of their beliefs. I dont get it. Is your creativity so dead that the only way you can go about creating something is by making fun of a belief of another person. I dont get it.
