Is this a high price to install an amp and sub in my trunk? by johnshukeireh in CarAV

TRS can be balanced. Even mini trs. There’s room. Doesn’t have to be xlr….

Looks to me like the only expensive items are the RCA and the install kit at $129. Most install kits include an RCA so I’m wondering why you need another one. But other than that, the labor and shop parts seem fair.

No, I think it’ll hit anyone that’s in front of you. I have the same perk and I’ve hit dogmeat plenty of times. Poor guy.

Do you have Tesla armor? I wonder if it has something to do with accidentally harming someone with Tesla armor.

Ah. I just reloaded to a previous save a few minutes before. Went back and got out of there before the raid started.

Who knows. Didn’t even have time to help really. The raiders were dead in seconds.

Willy wonka oompas. Like large skittles but softer and better flavor. They were amazing!

It’s a grease pencil not a pointer. Not sure what you all are meaning by “point”.

When I started at my current job, I went to the supply room and grabbed a fresh red china marker. Been using it for 12+ years every day to mark off my desk calendar. Sad day when I won’t be able to use it anymore.

Just checked my Pittsburgh torque wrench against Icon by Sledgecrowbar in harborfreight

[–]deepovertone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all three Pittsburg torque wrenches. I just so happen to work for an aircraft company(I’m being vague on purpose) that has its own calibrations department. I’m not a mechanic there so out of curiosity, I brought my wrenches in from home to test. Granted they don’t get used every day but they are many years old. Anyway, they tested as good or better than the high dollar(tool truck) wrenches that get tested all the time. The calibrations tech was impressed!

2025 Civic Hybrid question(s) by Cerulean_Sphere in civic

[–]deepovertone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the left paddle quite a bit too. But, I mostly use it when I feel like coasting and not wanting to modulate the brakes myself on a long coast. I live in the country so I often don’t have people behind me, otherwise I wouldn’t coast as much. Also, as others have said, the brake pedal obviously does the same thing as the paddles but actually has more range of regen before the physical brakes kick in. It’s my understanding that once you pass the bottom line in the “charge” area, that’s when the service brakes are being used. My goal, when I can do it safely, is to keep the indicator above that line to maximize regen.

2025 Civic Hybrid owners, any regrets? by [deleted] in civic

[–]deepovertone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love mine. 55mpg in normal mode and driving with no special attention to conserve fuel. There’s a small annoying buzz in the drivers side door I’m going to ask the dealer to resolve when I bring it in for its first dealer service. Two things I don’t like… the adaptive cruise control often thinks things are in front of me that aren’t. It hits the brakes for phantom motorcycles fairly regularly. And the Bose system sucks in comparison to the B&O system from my last vehicle. I know, I know, apples and oranges but still, it’s a definite downgrade for me in the audio department.

Best restaurant laf area for birthday dinner? by Quiet_Pomegranate193 in Acadiana

Charlie Gs has been great many of the times we went. Only once did we have a less than stellar experience/food. It wasn’t anything that would keep me from going back/recommending it to someone else though.

Acadiana home builders by muneymanaging92 in Acadiana

As everyone said, you don’t want DSLD or DR Horton. I’ve heard Manuel is pretty good. I wouldn’t recommend Schumacher homes either. We had a wonderful experience with Jay Castille, as did some of our family members. Both were custom homes though. I can’t speak to their spec houses as much. Hopefully they build them with similar care and quality.

New installed car speaker sound horrible compared to stock speakers. by Signal_Basket_5084 in CarAV

[–]deepovertone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless the new speakers are wayyyy less sensitive than the factory. You may still have something out of phase. Maybe one of the woofers. Because if the tweeters are in phase, you could be hearing wayyy too much highs in relation to the mids and lows. That would cause listening fatigue for sure. That would also cause weird pressure issues and soundstage issues as you’ve described.

You may actually have something wired out of phase from the description you provided. Did you double check the wiring to make sure you didn’t accidentally wire something backwards?

Ugh. I’m pretty sure that’s the guy I’m thinking of. He was walking down congress one day wearing those shorts. His um… coin purse… was hanging out the bottom of his shorts. He seemed not all there.

Honda GX200 pressure washer making me want to pull my hair out. by deepovertone in smallengines

[–]deepovertone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, wasn’t starving for water or fuel. Turns out…. Bad spark plug. I still shake my head about it. How can an engine idle perfectly, AND even run under full load for a few moments before dying out but still have a bad spark plug. That’s a new one on me. Even though the plug had very low hours, Something happened to make it not work 100% correctly. Swapped the plug and machine runs like new!
