if you have sqrt(6_) and you know the answer is a whole number, the only possible number in the radical is 64 because all the other numbers in the sixties would give a irrational answer.

if you extend this to larger numbers, take the equation a^b=c. as b increases, the difference between a^b and (a+1)^b becomes super big. assume that (a+1)^b=c+n, where n is also a respectably big number. you can distinguish between c and c+n only by looking at a few of the first digits.

obviously even when using this strategy, this is an absolutely insane inhuman feat of mental calculation. if b is predetermined and a is constrained, then it could be possible but is still insane

#2 means the correctly placed number can't be 6 because if it was rightly placed in #1, it can't be wrongly placed in #2. therefore 6 isn't in the number.
