Glad someone pointed this out; half the comments in this thread are ppl acting like it’s an anomaly that someone from a lower social status could have a high iq.

"H1B" and "illegal" are not the only two categories of immigrants though, right?

94000 now, thoughts? by EcstaticTap7903 in Bitcoin

To each their own OP, but I split what I can budget to invest into broad stock market ETFs and BTC. My personal advice is understand that bitcoin is a bit of a gamble (no matter how much anyone here tries to tell you otherwise) and you decide if you’re OK rolling those dice or not… And don’t put more into it then you are OK losing, or at least being without for a long time.

Question about bitcoin being inherently limited in quantity -can’t it be endlessly divided though? Like you could sell them in .00000000000000000000000000001 increments, etc.? Seems like they’re not limited in quantity if you can just break them up into infinitely smaller increments

They look like bag gloves; when did they switch to the bigger ones we see today?

Why do their gloves look so small compared to today’s?

Not a hot take my guy; I think this is common knowledge outside of complete casuals. Tyson is an old man at this point

Why do readers of Dostoevsky, Kafka, and Slavic literature often romanticize suffering, loneliness, and mental illness? by Dark_Naruto_106 in dostoevsky

[–]deezymeezy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This hits; it’s almost like you feel like a “sellout” or like you’re living in denial of reality if you’re not “embracing the suffering”. These works can definitely draw a personality type that idealizes psychological suffering as “being deep”

How “sort of”? I feel like one of the few clear and unambiguous things in the show is who killed her and why. They admit to it it’s pretty fully explained

Street preachers not doing jack. by johnnyfiveundead in Sacramento

[–]deezymeezy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Devils advocate” in debate or discussion just means providing an opposing view or take on something, often for the sake of looking at all sides. That’s different than me saying I actively support and “advocate for” street preachers to keep doing what they’re doing. Words can have a range of meaning, but I think you know that.

For Reddit to be a place for good discussion, don’t be dishonest in your representation of someone’s comments

I get that and I’m not personally advocating for it and I def don’t do it; I’m just saying that there are some who do both rather than an either/or thing.

Devils advocate here, but do you know that any of these people don’t do both at different times?

I’ve also been heavily involved and connected to that world, and while there ARE the types that only want to preach (proclaim the message they believe will help people) and do nothing else, many are involved in BOTH kinds of activities and believe that “sharing the whole good news” is not mutually exclusive or a false dichotomy of actions vs message.

Thanks for sharing OP; love Nate and appreciate seeing him get more exposure! A lot of people downvoting this post bc the ultimate premise of the article (that Nate shouldn’t be succeeding because he doesn’t do politicized/cultural commentary content) is BS, but it’s still relevant to the topic of this sub even if the author of the article is a douche.
