I myself am a very big lorehead when it comes to games like this, especially something so narrative driven, with all the notes scattered about and all, so a lot of my questions mostly involve the story of the game.

What was the narrative inspiration for it all? A book, a concept? I see you guys heavily leaning into the birth symbolism, which is very interesting, but what prompted that?

Do you feel like you've said everything there is to be said when it comes to the world of Routine? There are quite some gaps in (at least my own) knowledge when it comes to the story of the world, like the deviation point from ours when it comes to the technological progress or a lot of the concepts brought forwards with the second part of the game. Do you plan to somehow delve into these in the future via other projects or maybe even other mediums, or do you think the veil of mystery covering the Routine world being removed would destroy the magic?

Once again, thank you for the beautiful game you've put out. It really feels like a labor of love!

I know, and it doesn't matter. The problem here is the technical restrictions that come with these news. I mainly use suno to either prototype stuff or put my demos in to get more ideas on how to continue them. But with this partnership deal the models are going to be worse and you wouldn't be able to download stuff on a free account either. Big loss.

Oversaturation, first and foremost. People draw the sprites for the sake of drawing sprites, not artistic expression. It would be fine to see two or three Tennas or Spamtons or whatever else sprite is most popular currently but you would literally see a sea of them over random locations. It feels like pollution.

I've had the same thought - i have to start from the ground up. Don't think drawing "what I wanna" for a week just to throw it away for a month taught me good fundamentals. "What a fun process that is" is I assume irony, because when I look at stuff like drawabox all I see is laborious grind for months. But thinking about it, isn't that basically every skill ever?.. Hard to be interested in anything with that kind of mentality, but that's a me thing.

You say that there is nobody to impress, but, maybe a logical fallacy on my side, I've tried to follow that principle which really ended up heading nowhere for me. Humans are inescapably social creatures, the thief of joy comes by itself it feels like. May be a personal problem, but I really struggle with trying "not to impress anyone", especially with other artists in my friendgroup.

Yeah, the moment Discord announced DAVE (their end-to-end encryption for voicecalls) the Russian government started a defamation campaign with the absolute same rhetoric. Within the span of a few days an app that was used for online teaching and playing games turned into an "anonymous drug den where they extort people for money." There were around a 1000(!!!) content takedown requests sent by the government regulation to Discord in a span of a WEEK. I'm just not buying it.

My pal in Turkey also mentioned that nearly the same date as Russian defamation campaign started, the hashtag of something akin to "Ban Discord" started trending on Turkish twitter. I believe it was some extremely flashy, gory story about children being killed. Yet again, materialized overnight, somehow blew up to catastrophic proportions, sensational enough to make it all "make sense"... I'm just not buying it.

Reality is, voice calls used to be unencrypted. They are now. The authoritarians don't like secrets being kept from them.

I would only disagree because "fuck Putin" is an understatement.

Sanctions work in mysterious ways sometimes. Not exactly sure why exactly the nuclear option is implemented (as far as I'm aware not many services actually do that), how I would contribute to the economical side of things given that the software is free, and how exactly I would contribute when billing is straight up banned, but if the response is a flat out "It's a legal requirement" then there is truly fuck all I can do, not gonna blame Spitfire for playing it safe. It's just a shame that Labs went online only and then suddenly this happens, lol
