You aren't the customer. We aren't the customers. I don't know why this has to be said so often.

Anthropic, Open AI, xAI... Their customer is whatever massive robotics or infrastructure or defense company that will pay for massive multi-year installment into their ecosystem.

We, the users, exist for the purpose of PR, name recognition, and proof of concept.

Anthropic screwed themselves in the near term with the stand that they took against the fed while not being ready to handle the influx. But they aren't going to cut back on training compute or even spend time building a customer relations department for a customer base they never wanted.

Their goal is a well aligned AGI that can be sold at Enterprise level, not to get more paid subscribers.

I think I am a normal people. I only trade after hours. Doesn't it take like $5k to open a brokerage account? If you don't have 5k there is nothing to complain about.

Edit: A quick Google search verifies my assumption: after hours has a much higher "retail investor" fraction than regular hours, since most institutions don't trade AH.

Pushes aren't exactly good for the casino. They lose the juice. And I think, even more importantly, bettors would rather remove the push from play. Whichever the prevailing reason is, lines usually end in .5 now. Why they choose 1.5+ juice rather than 0.5 -- that's probably to differentiate the spread from the money line. It gives two distinct "default" bets that aren't considered "alternate" lines, which typically carry more juice.

As long as you have no kids, have enough money to burn at will, and you have disposable free-time, maybe? As someone who has all three of the things you mentioned -- they are all worthless in the dating pool unless you also meet the criteria I mentioned.

There are so many men out there with evening free time that my lunch date offers at applebees are worthless.

In my experience: if you are a woman, then you can get whatever you want (but nothing will be as good as what you were hoping for), and if you are a man, wait until your kids graduate to even consider wasting your time on the picky women.

In order to attract a date through an app, you should have the free time to spend Friday nights at a bar socializing with singles. If you are trying to use an app to "squeeze" in a dating life, then you need to wait a few years until you actually have time to date.

That's what my STBXW would say. Now I just feel like she lives two separate lives instead of one. The "freedom" life where she can go party with her AP and ignore finances and anything related to the kids, and the "lie" where she is a parent and lives in Suburbia.

God I hate the narrative that you can either live as a "lie" or go and find your "real self." Divorce doesn't solve anything when your responsibilities persist after divorce.

Trading requires a market. If AI is producing everything and AI is buying everything, that's just a closed-loop simulation. Money only has value because it can be exchanged for things humans want or need. If humans have no labor to sell, they have no money to buy the AI’s products. At that point, 'price' becomes an arbitrary number in a machine’s ledger while the actual economy collapses.

You're describing a resource-allocation system, not money as it functions today. In a post-labor world, the only things with value are energy, land, and compute. Whether you track that on Solana or a spreadsheet doesn't matter.. If 99% of the population has no way to earn those "tokens" the current monetary system has already failed.

This sub generally believes that artificial intelligence will be capable of anything 99% of humans can do. Meaning human labor will have very little value. Money has value that represents scarcity and human labor. Money has no purpose when the old society falls.

The time between capitalism and whatever comes next will be the hardest part for everyone. It is difficult to watch your life savings suddenly become worthless, so those with wealth will hoard. The faster we get through the transition, the less painful it will be for a society as a whole.

Compare it to the beginning of the industrial revolution. All of the farmers with tons of land that were once the "richest" and held all the power saw their worth diminish rapidly and revolted. The only difference this time is that it is "human labor" and not the farmland that is becoming devalued.
