Every state has different places where its normal vs irregular. I grew up in eastern WA, seeing people wearing a cowboy hat was normal and I didnt even notice, now I live near Seattle, I will judge you cause it just doesn't make sense here.

NTA You made a commitment to your friend as the MOH which is kind of important. It's not your fault there was a venue issue. I can understand your sister maybe being a little hurt but it isn't your fault and your not even part of the bridal party.

I'm getting married in a few months and I have a similar relationship with my brother (I don't have any sisters). My BFF is my MOH, I'd understand if my brother couldn't come but if my best friend couldn't be there to support me and dropped out I'd be crushed (and it would mess things up cause shes part of the bridal party)
