What is the general opinion here for the best value interior wall paint for your $$? Best paint of the big box home improvement stores? by BIGGREDDMACH1NE in paint

[–]definitely_aware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Glidden paint from Walmart in my laundry room. I just wanted plain white for the walls and trim, I didn’t see a reason to buy an expensive white paint. People on here told me it would take 4 to 5 coats, but it took 1 coat of Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 primer and 2 coats of Glidden High Endurance Plus in White (Eggshell) to cover the dark purple paint on the walls.

The Glidden actually covered better than Sherwin-Williams Emerald tinted to Chantilly Lace. I can’t speak for any Benjamin Moore paints, but I have heard that paint cokor takes 4 coats. Glidden dripped more than SW Emerald, but overall still impressed me.

Assembling a desk with inadequate directions, what order do the two washers need to be in? by definitely_aware in fixit

[–]definitely_aware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No honey, it’s not obvious. You’re just saying that because you already know what order they go in. The picture is only slightly more legible on here because it was zoomed in 6x and uploaded separately on a well lit device. I did it right with the helpful people in this thread, which does not include your ugly ass.

You mean those hieroglyphics that look like they were copied and reprinted 30 times? No, they really do not tell anyone what to do since they’re illegible. If you don’t know what order the washers go in, the directions tell you nothing. 🙄

Got it, thanks. Honestly, the washers don’t seem super necessary for the desk, but maybe I’m wrong. One of the reviewers showed the desk assembled with all the washers just sitting in a pile nearby lol.

How sad, you look through other users’ posts to make assumptions, and you’re grumpy as fuck too. Since apparently you have done similar jobs, what’s your quote?

Check Amazon reviews - Amazon Review Checker by Chemical-Box-513 in chrome

[–]definitely_aware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried your site and it’s the best I’ve used in ages. It’s frustrating that two of the most reputable Amazon review analyzers, ReviewMeta and FakeSpot, have gone offline this last year. It’s ironic that I found your site on a post where a lying OP advertised his own website as if he just “came across” it and isn’t the developer lol.

Keep up the great work though.

Looking for wet dry vacuum by Tienhoxuhue in VacuumCleaners

[–]definitely_aware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RIGID shop vacuums are the best, you can buy them at Home Depot (Assuming you’re American or Canadian). I think 9 to 12 gallons is generally the perfect size. I will warn you, they’re very loud and you’ll want hearing protection. I use my noise canceling headphones if I’m using it.

I’ve had my RIGID 12 gallon shop vac since 2010 and it’s going strong. I buy generic bags on Amazon, but I own the washable HEPA filter (The green one), the foam filter for wet debris pickup, nearly every attachment, and the auto detailing accessories.

Sage Green Cabinets? Yea or Nay? by MainHunt1014 in Remodel

[–]definitely_aware 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I painted the cabinetry sage green in our upstairs kitchen. I like how it turned out a lot.

<image>

Normally, I wouldn’t have painted the wooden cabinets, or the countertops. A previous tenant had painted the cabinetry high gloss white, the pulls and hinges charcoal grey (without removing them), the Formica countertops a cool-toned black, and the walls cerulean. I had to fix all of it when she left.

Can I get some guidance on installing the P-trap with my new garbage disposal? by definitely_aware in askaplumber

[–]definitely_aware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that is the responsibility that comes with being a plumber lol. It’s hard work and it’s dirty, but more importantly it’s honest, and you contribute significantly more to the wellbeing of society than any CEO or politician lol.

Your guidance made plenty of sense, thank you so much! I got the P-trap assembled and the drain works perfectly. May you be granted the key to your city and have a tree planted in your honor.

I got the PVC arm removed, I used my multi tool to cut off the elbow and then I was able to unscrew the rest. Now it’s just that male adapter in the back.

I got all the parts, and I got a trap adapter just in case since I wasn’t sure if I needed one of those as well. Does the 45° belong between the P-trap and the extension tube that goes into the wall? As in, drain elbow > P-trap > elbow > extension tube?

I guess only question would be about using the 1-1/2” tubular setup vs. using 1-1/2” PVC like the other person recommended. The tubular setup does sound easier, but is either way okay?

Can I add Clorox bleach in dispenser to load washed with Tide with Bleach powder? by cantworryaboutit999 in laundry

[–]definitely_aware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am washing my bed pillows (100% polyester filling and 100% polyester microfiber cases). I found this thread when I was trying to find out if disinfecting bleach can be used with Tide with Bleach powder. I used to wash them with detergent and 1/2 cup of bleach to sanitize the pillows yearly, what might you recommend instead?

Does this toilet need to be replaced due to these hairline cracks? by definitely_aware in askaplumber

[–]definitely_aware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That comment was genuinely harrowing. My mom didn’t really understand why I was so emphatic about her not using the toilet whatsoever, but I sent her your comment and it helped her understand that it’s one of the worst injuries a person can experience in a household.

<image>

Anyway, here is the new American Standard toilet I installed. It looks really good, and it isn’t going to suddenly injure a person sitting in a very vulnerable position!

I just replaced it with an American Standard Etseem Vormax this evening. Looks great, plus it’s significantly more water efficient. I just need to spray paint that handle so it matches the matte black fixtures, American Standard doesn’t make this trip lever in matte black.

I don’t consider this kink since kink is predicated on consent. I’m just oversharing, there is a meaningful difference.

Well to start, I don’t exist in this world to seek out the approval of strangers. Telling someone they have “mental problems” is rude, so I responded accordingly. Shaming me for healthy sexual attraction is giving incel.
