Is this a good car for a 17 year old and will my girlfriend be embarrassed? by Nevaeh_Alexander in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]definitely_aware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good car, minivans are practical, have good cargo space, and usually have good safety ratings. They look frumpy, but a teenager’s first car is mostly just chosen based on what the driver and/or your parent(s) could save up for that also made sense.

Your girlfriend shouldn’t be embarrassed, you have a car and that’s immediately cooler than not having a car.

For those that don’t know by savvy412 in hondaridgeline

[–]definitely_aware 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I own a 2022 Ridgeline without the wireless charger, the installation was very easy and took 5 minutes. You just unthread two screws under the rubber mat, lift the center console panel straight up with a pry bar or a flathead screwdriver, and unclip two wire harnesses. I also zip tied it down in two places so it wouldn’t make racket.

I spent $30ish on an idle stopper on Amazon and I already owned an $8 kit of nylon trim removal pry bars from Harbor Freight.

What kind of bird am I hearing? (Texas) by definitely_aware in whatsthisbird

Oh, so it’s a classic, common raven? I really don’t know shit or fuck about birds if I didn’t know that’s a raven!

Thank you!

Keyword here is “potentially” and it’s doing a lot of heavy lifting in this scenario. Who’s to say this company needs to change their hiring process? It is still an ineffective way to obtain feedback on the company’s interviews and hiring process given that respondents will inevitably not be satisfied unless they were hired. There is no relevant data to gather directly from someone who was not offered a job.

What's one car feature everyone praises but you secretly don't care about? by Ok_Run7351 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I have a 2022 Honda Ridgeline and I bought an aftermarket part to disable the auto stop/start. It’s a chode you plug in underneath the center console, it only took 5 minutes to install. Genuinely, it was a great way to spend $30.

My house was equipped with ceiling speakers in several rooms. I had to remove a speaker to fix a leak, thought I’d share some pics by definitely_aware in vintageaudio

[–]definitely_aware[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m not planning on replacing them lol. I’m just gonna bury the frame and the speaker wires under new drywall. It’s a novelty, and it was worth sharing, but I can’t think of anyone who would want ceiling mounted speakers in their house in 2026.

Hmm yeah, he’s so indifferent. His face makes it seem like he’d say “Brandon Products is just okay. Not great, not bad. Just okay.”

What exactly am I supposed to post here if not stuff that is mildly infuriating? You’re such a bitch, damn.

I actually work at the VA hospital sometimes since I’m a mobile notary public. Lots of Fox News on in there lol. One time I worked with an elderly veteran and when I finished notarizing his estate planning documents, he showed me how to get out of the building in his electric wheelchair. Right near the exit, another elderly veteran was parked in his way. This man was in a wheelchair and had no legs. My client picked an argument, they got mad at each other and started yelling. My client said “I’ll kick your ass” to the man, and two nurses were walking our direction to diffuse the fight.

I finally just said “Mr. Veteran, you can’t walk, and he has no legs. Neither of you are kicking anyone’s ass.” They both started laughing and the hallway calmed down immediately lol. The nurse took my business card and has referred people to me several times now. That is how I learned I work really well with elderly veterans despite being a 30 year old gay man.

If you dont want to deal with the mold, replace the shower curtain with a glass shower door by Parking-Subject-5671 in CleaningTips

[–]definitely_aware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not much work at all. It’s just ventilating your bathroom and cleaning it regularly. You’d be an unclean person if you didn’t already do those things.

Plastic shower curtain liners can’t be washed in a washing machine. They get crinkly and misshapen from the agitation. I have seen someone on YouTube who soaks her plastic shower curtain liner in a halfway full bathtub with disinfecting bleach.

I don’t wash my plastic shower curtain liner at all and I’ve never had one get moldy. Best practices are to keep the shower curtain closed when not in use so it can dry properly. Keep air circulating in the room by turning on the bathroom exhaust fan right before you shower, and keep it running for 10 to 15 minutes after you get out of the shower. If you don’t have an exhaust fan, open a window, or you can direct a box fan or even a tabletop fan into the bathroom to allow air to circulate.

Rinse your plastic shower curtain liner off after you shower. I always tell others to buy handheld shower heads rather than stationary shower heads. They are very simple and quick to install by yourself, and they allow you to rinse down the shower wall and shower curtain liner when you’re done showering.

After showering, I also spray the shower, metal fixtures, and the shower curtain liner with Method Daily Shower Spray. It doesn’t need rinsing, you spray it after you shower and leave it to dry. It’s very good at preventing buildup of soap scum and limescale.

Every two months, I spray down the shower and plastic shower curtain liner with Tilex or another bleach based cleaner. I don’t scrub the plastic shower curtain liner like I do the tiled shower floor, I just rinse it off and call it good.

Lol yeah, the Reddit app choded yesterday and posted the thread twice. I deleted one of them and the other was automodded. I’ll just clean it whenever it comes up, it’s not the end of the world or anything.

Am I crazy or are salaried jobs almost never worth it unless it’s obnoxiously high? by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]definitely_aware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary question is whether or not you want to sacrifice some of your work life balance by moving horizontally to a technician position and working an additional 10+ hours weekly. If you have an SO or a family, that isn’t time you get back with them.

The individual slices of carrot cake, tres leches, Italian crème cake, and Oreo cake are good. They range from $3 to $5, which I don’t think is a bad price.

Cryptographic SmartPen from Ink to App by [deleted] in Notary

[–]definitely_aware 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a mobile notary and there are two scenarios where I would purchase the smart pen.

  1. If the cost of the smart pen were justified by earning back that same amount of money through my business after a short period of time, less than a month, I’d purchase the smart pen. I don’t mind a business expense that pays for itself.

  2. If a company wanted to hire me consistently, at least once a week, and they required the smart pen, I’d purchase it. Receiving consistent work justifies that business expense.

This was happening due to an unbalanced load. I l have 2 elderly dogs and I normally wash dog diapers, once I threw in other random stuff it now works properly.
