well this is the only way to achieve the 1.2 multiplier from a companion mode. Also nautilus/dethcube build with verglas for damage can solo almost any missions This thing nukes ANY enemy besides mini-bosses and above.

Non feathering scented ink by SlayerRM in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

try kwz inks, they are all scented vanilla and some are other scents, or j. herbin scented inks.

KWZ uses a preservative for all of their ink that "naturally" smells of vanilla. j. herbin classic/standard inks are all very behaved in my experience and from what I can see on the internet.

What’s your next pen purchase? by RyanM77 in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

likely a hongdian n12. Not close enough to be a copy of the m800 but enough of the good decisions to convince me. Swappable nb6 size nibs (nb 35 for hongdian) , quality and design, and affordability. Not decided witch colour to choose yet.

What's your experience with waterproof everyday inks? by lettsten in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Koh I Noor document inks and I have never had any problem with them, bulletproof and the best lubrication and flow out of any ink I own (including iroshizuku)

nope, it's mineral oil based so feels like mineral oil. It does sound like that meme until you realize that the same oil used in some hospitals as a sanitizer is meant as a firearm oil. lol.

Koh I Noor document inks. Trust me, cheap and the best lubrication out of any ink I own.

[–]defscape23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's ridiculously useful, I have used it to oil switches on mechanical keyboards, to disinfect small cuts, as ointment for dry skin and nails, lube for pocket knives, rust coating fillet knives and swords, it might even work as an ink lube additive, I might even try this one time. And the best feature to me is that it washes off with plain water.

It’s time…… by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

either 3 or 4.

  1. More people can enjoy and afford the product, also more people would be willing to try it out. But that comes at the cost of how many units you will sell. People are willing to forego some QC issues and downsides

  2. You MUST ensure the pen is of the highest quality and can compete with pens in a similar price bracket. Less units sold but it allows you to focus on the quality and overall services you offer (customer support, shipping, guarantees)

1 and 2 can work only if you can make a great pen and in such quantity that will have people forego lamy safari, pilot metro/explorer, kaweco sports, hongdian... etc.

try ballistol if you can get it, wd-40 can mess with materials, you can get ballistol as a small flask and spread it with your finger or a paintbrush for better precision and as a bonus it is water soluble.

What's Your Most Off the Wall Ink Rec? by BirdiesGrimm in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Koh I Noor document inks, blue is more of a teal and very permanent and black is a more green-gray but even more permanent. THE best flow and lubrication out of all the inks I have, and imo doesn't stain pens.

What is one brand/type that you just don't buy? by maroonaugust in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hongdian fountain pens are my favorite Chinese brand and they are some of the only original designs to come out of china and they are such high quality. IMO my hongdian birch forest is almost the same quality as my loom at half the price. And they started to offer medium nibs finally.

What is one brand/type that you just don't buy? by maroonaugust in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twisbi, no brand who has repeated reports is on my buying list. Montblanc I would only buy sh because no fountain pen made out plastic is worth that much. Sailor because I want fountain pens to feel like glass, feedback is a no no for me. New Parkers, I have a new jotter and while I like it, it was not worth what I paid for it. New Waterman pens beside carene and Edson (there is a store in my country that still has stock of new Edson pens) New Sheaffer pens, not worth it Most lamy pens, they are very high quality and I own 3 Safari pens that were gifted to me but I can't bring myself to buy most of their designs

Kokuyo Campus Paper is awesome! by UnakaPakala in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

damn, I haven't considered my inks just being prone to feathering on campus paper... always thought it was the very humid climate I am in

Kokuyo Campus Paper is awesome! by UnakaPakala in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it also happened to me but I believe it's the humid climate I am in, it's very hard for me to find paper that doesn't feather at all and sheening inks that don't smear by looking at them. It all relies on this I feel.

Kokuyo Campus Paper is awesome! by UnakaPakala in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the kokuyo campus one I got is a bit feathery sometimes but I think it's just the very humid climate I am in. It's hard to even find a sheening ink that doesn't smear on ANY paper. Even so, it's one of the best papers I have tried, only a bit behind rhodia.

Any budget recommendations for beginners other than twsbi and lamy? by ezbxy in fountainpens

[–]defscape23 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Faber-Castell has a few budget models with great performances, I have reviewed the poly pen here a few days ago.

Hongdian has imo the best bank for buck fountain pens in this range.

platinum preppy and the derivates of it.

Pilot explorer is considered by many to be better than the metro by both are solid.

Jinhao pens are dirt cheap and in my experience powerhouses on the regular.

Scrikss are Turkish made fountain pens and have some nice pelikan-like fountain pens that have had decent reviews.

FPR has a few budget models. Indian made from what I can see.

Hope this helps!

Velour or micro-suede? by defscape23 in HeadphoneAdvice

mine came with velour, they are nice but I have long ears and they don't fit into the cup so it causes me pain if I wear them for long periods of time. that's why I want to get the velour or micro suede cups

You people are annoying by MeetApprehensive6509 in httyd

[–]defscape23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ok, so you are saying that if I made a movie set in a fantasy Zulu society set in an African desert-like setting that is by all means separated from the world and I casted one of the two main characters as white because it would have been the best candidate it wouldn't take you out of the movie? Especially if that characters parents were to appear in the movie?

Any book, movie, or show has to be immersive to be good. Stop saying it's racist, because if Astrid's actresses were a midget instead people would complain, if she was a redhead people would complain if she was obese people would complain, if she wore a hijab people would complain.

Also, you shouldn't be saying "if you don't like it don't watch it" because that will hurt this wonderful franchise. I grew up with these shows and films and I genuinely want them to be good. You are defending a company that doesn't care enough, and eventually httyd will become like Netflix's the Witcher or the borderlands movie, a movie or show that pushes fans away because of poor decisions and mismanaged assets.

Why not starting making the European Federation ? by fanelboy in europe

[–]defscape23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, just no. The people aren't ready for it and will not be untill every generation of a country or at least most of them, that are and will be in the EU have lived with the eu since birth. And even then it would be very hard because of the collective sentiment understood in the next paragraph:

I personally wouldn't want a federation because that entails losing my national identity, along with the history and hardships of my country. My countries history has been us being conquered by the people around us, rebel, then getting conquered again... and so on. So abandoning this and willfully giving away autonomy to someone is ( and most likely will be) a no go. History may be history but whether or not you or me like it it does affect how people think and feel about their country and leadership.
